Licence to Kill

Abstract
Relying on the conclusions of the West Midlands Health & Safety Advice Center, the findings of the British Health & Safety Executive regarding the death of Dennis Clarke, an industrial worker, are challenged. Clarke, age 21, passed out while cleaning a large degreasing tank in an unventilated room at work & died shortly afterwards. The Health & Safety Executive fined the company he worked for, but it did not bring manslaughter charges against any of the company's directors -- despite the compelling case presented by the Advice Center. If the government continues with its deregulation campaign, it is argued, there will be more untimely deaths like Clarke's. M. Maguire
