Abstract
Examines the status of international refugee law in Mexico. It is contended that Mexico has neither courts nor lawyers that deal specifically with migration/refugee issues; the legal system intended to regulate refugee status includes procedures that are not in accordance with international law; & there is a lack of mechanisms to facilitate refugee integration or represent unaccompanied children. The need for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to strengthen its efforts in Mexico is emphasized. Adapted from the source document.
