SummaryOne hundred and thirty six lactating women were studied, 42 controls and 94 taking oral contraceptives. Combination pills of oestrogen and progestogen (Primovlar and Minovlar) and a low dose progestogen pill (Norgestrel) were used. The selection of a particular formulation was based on the endocrine profile of an individual; this reduced drop-outs due to side effects.The change in the quantity of milk was assessed by test-feeding followed by manual expression. Milk was also analysed quantitatively. Significant reduction in the milk yield was found with the Primovlar and Minovlar groups but no change was observed with Norgestrel. No change in the quality of milk was found for any of the three groups.

This study was concerned with problem solving under two display conditions. In one condition ("Sequential"), only those response alternatives permissable at any given time were displayed at that time. Under the other condition ("Batch"), all response alternatives, permissable at the moment or not, were presented at all times. Significantly greater time was found to be required to learn solutions using the "Batch" display. This requirement was attributed to the significantly greater display search-time which was found to be required in that condition. No significant difference in number of trials to reach the criterion of learning solutions was found, indicating that the additional material displayed in the "Batch" condition carries no significant amount of useful information. It is concluded that displaying data which has only potential relevance is not only ineffective but actually degrades performance.

Abstract
The new concept of "interpersonal pollution" and its antecedents and effects, i.e. on organizational members' health and well-being and on organizational outcomes are investigated. Building upon this work this presentation proposes a model and tentative definition of a broader construct, i.e. "organizational pollution", and identifies its potential antecedents and explores its impact on humans' health and well-being and organizational outcomes. In particular our model explores the roles played by leaders' and members' dark personalities and lack of environmental concern, by unethical leadership, by both the characteristics of the community and the organization, including the latter's physical and ethical environment, and finally their link to organizational pollution. This new model implications for organizational and environmental psychology are discussed.
