Christian Zionism has received no small amount of criticism from observers who take issue with the movement's pro-Israel politics or its theology. What if we listened seriously to what Christian Zionists and Jewish partners said about Jews, Judaism, and Israel? Christian Zionism is a vibrant contemporary movement that--agree or disagree--has more than just political implications. Christian Zionism has also brought an unprecedented number of Jews and Christians into contact and dialogue, in houses of worship, community centers, rallies, and, of course, in Israel. As such, Christian Zionism is a

This paper makes reference to a series of controversial aspects which were awakened by Christian Metz's work over the course of his active life and are still in the spotlight thirty five years after his demise. The persistence of the wide array of points of view regarding his insights may very well have resulted from both his importance and the epistemological difficulty the different discursive objects entail, especially those of a mixed nature as is the case of cinematography, which unleashed his inquiries. Within the framework of three works dedicated to the author by Dominique Chateau and Martin Lefebvre, Charlotte Bouchez and Omar Hachemi and Eliseo Verón, a set of issues concerning the interplay between Metz's work and phenomenology, semiotics and discursive specificity are discussed. Finally, this work aims to deal exclusively with those central aspects of the author's realm which are essential to address the mediatisation processes arising nowadays.

Despite its centrality in European politics, Christian democracy came to be the object of systematic research only recently. We review the research that has emerged since the mid-1990s and pinpoint its contributions in specifying the origins, evolution, and broader impact of Christian democratic parties. We begin with a discussion of the origins of Christian democracy and show that it is a distinctive political movement; we review the state of contemporary Christian democratic politics, describe the impact of Christian democracy on the process of European integration, evaluate the content of the Christian democratic welfare regime, and explore whether the European Christian democratic experience travels outside Europe and Christianity, especially in the world of political Islam. We conclude with an overview of the future outlook of this political movement.

(HA)
