Due to the large quantities of municipal waste generated, their harmful effects on the environment should be minimized. The rationalization of waste management is therefore necessary to achieve a more sustainable development system. In order to support the decision-making process for municipal waste management, this document focuses on developing models for practical use by local authorities in forecasting and managing the size of waste stream in their area. This action, because of its specificity, is a difficult task, especially because of the systemic changes made and the territorial differentiation and changes in the living level of the population. The work presents studies conducted in 2479 municipalities for which mass accumulation index forecasts were developed, using selected methods based on readily available input variables that have not yet been used (structure municipalities and typology of municipalities by scope of influence). The studies confirmed the hypothesis that the amount of municipal waste collected from households depends both on the administrative type of the municipality and on the factors related to the location and socioeconomic function of the area. The inclusion of localization and socioeconomic factors, which so far were not used to model the municipal waste stream, allowed for the reduction of the prediction error of this indicator. Relevant waste stream forecasts will allow local governments to achieve more effectively the objective of sustainable waste management and thus reduce their environmental impact. The achievement of this objective will be possible not only through the preparation of infrastructure to serve the projected waste volumes ; it will also identify the waste management areas where the municipal waste reception process is inadequate. Thus, it will help to eliminate illegal processing and the landfill of waste.

If the European Convention on Human Rights is at the heart of the European legal order, the legal order of the Union is essentially governed by the Union Treaties. Although there is bound to be interference between these two Regional legal systems, this text demonstrates that this interconnection does not prevent, in the field of international treaty law, each legal order to maintain its autonomy as well in relation to the other than in respect of the International legal order. ; Nul n'est sans savoir qu'il existe un ordre juridique européen différent de l'ordre juridique communautaire propre à l'Union Européenne. Si la Convention européenne des droits de l'Homme est au coeur de l'ordre juridique européen, l'ordre juridique de l'Union, quant à lui, est essentiellement régi par les traités de l'Union. The question of a general part for EU Private International Law has attracted research and debate among PIL scholars long before the EU started to codify this legal field after the Amsterdam Treaty. However, the EU has made no attempt to make use of the existing research to adopt a comprehensive regulation of the general part of EU PIL and has adopted sector-specific regulation with inconsistent regulation of several general institutes. For the occasion of the anniversary of the Zeitschrift für Europarechtliche Studien this paper revisits the topic to answer the question which institutes of PIL should be codified in a general part of EU PIL. The conclusions are made based on four criteria: which general institutes of PIL are already regulated in the EU; are they generally applicable to all special parts of EU PIL; what is their practical relevance; and is there a need for their uniform regulation. The paper analyzes the discrepancies between existing general institutes of EU PIL and offers brief discussions on the possible formulation of some of the institutes for the general part.
