This three-part lesson plan aims to deepen students' understanding of how humor impacts public perceptions of political events and political players. The activities are designed to work with current events or issues preoccupying the political-cultural landscape at the time of class instruction. The lesson plan is adaptable for online instruction. The first and (optional) second lessons focus on the functions of political parody and draw heavily from Jason T. Peifer's (2013) analysis of Saturday Night Live parodies of Sarah Palin. Peifer's concepts of parodic reflection, refraction, and creation are easily translatable to parodies of contemporary political figures, like Donald Trump, and help students analyze the critical distance that makes parody humorous. The third lesson explores the circulation of humor and how late-night comedians create echo chambers that amplify select perspectives.

In almost seven decades of existence, NATO adopted seven strategic concepts, which consolidated significantly the role of this organisation in ensuring Euro-Atlantic security. The priorities promoted through these documents derived from the implementation of the North-Atlantic Treaty signed in Washington, in April 1949. Furthermore, it provides the framework for continuous adaptation of the way in which NATO is working, while optimising the Alliance approach towards security evolution. From this perspective, the radiography of the past decades indicates the existence of several decisive stages in the overall development of NATO strategic approach. The outcome of this process has become visible both in the maturity of the organisational profile as well as in the comprehensiveness of the tools developed for providing collective defence. In this vein, the strategic concepts have represented the landmarks of NATO's transformation process providing the practical and conceptual tenets, which have contributed to the efforts of maintaining the stability in Europe and to the consolidation of the activity of this organisation in the field of crisis management.

To compete in political contests, politicians need their supporters to contribute resources. We investigate how politicians can best allocate group-based prizes on a contingent basis to incentivize individual members of a group to exert effort on their behalf. We contrast contingent contracts with tournament style contests (Lazear and Rosen (Rank-order tournaments as optimum labor contracts. J Political Econ 1981; 89(5): 841–864)) and characterize when tournaments that create intergroup contests for prizes elicit more contributions than contingent contracts. By tying the allocation of prizes to the observed level of effort made by each group, politicians ameliorate the collective action problem that is created by the fact that each individual's effort has only a minimal impact on the overall political contest. We examine the relative performance and stability of intergroup tournaments as a function of the number of groups and asymmetric group size.

The article deals with the far right movement foundation process in Georgia, where Europeanization process still takes place. Study aims to determine how European understanding of radical/extreme right meets the Georgian reality in this point of view. Research focus on major and most visible political groups – "Georgian March", "Georgian National Unity", "Anti-liberals" and "Edelweiss". The article tries to formulate the relevant questionnaire to measure the essential features of these movement in the erms of political positions on foreign, domestic, social-ethical, identity policies. Also, it can be examined how the major members of these movements evaluate neo-populist and principle of rule of law. Conclusion includes the comparative analysis and linkages between these political movements.

Research is devoted to theoretical aspects of the definition of «political marketing». We prove that marketing is not only modern means of elections, but «constant technology» policy. It is shown that, on the one hand, the low political activity encourages political parties to resort to political marketing technologies, on the other hand, the resulting marketing approach to electoral number of people who participate in elections constantly decreasing.

The term "social world" is increasingly familiar in philosophy and political theory. Rawls uses it quite often, especially in his later works. But there has been little explicit discussion of the term and the idea of social worlds. My aim in this paper is to show that political philosophers, Rawlsian or not, should think seriously about social worlds and the roles these things play and ought to play in their work. The idea of social worlds can help political philosophers think about what they do in new and fruitful ways and enrich debates about the roles, aims, and methodology of political philosophy. I begin by analyzing Rawls's uses of "social world." I then propose a broadly Rawlsian conception of social worlds as logically possible closed networks of social relations between agents. Next, I put this conception to work, arguing that the idea of navigating the landscape of social worlds can help us better understand the four apparently disparate roles of political philosophy that Rawls presents. Moving beyond Rawls interpretation, I use the idea of social worlds to develop an analogy and distinction between world-oriented and principle-oriented approaches to political philosophy. While principle-oriented approaches grant centrality and importance to engagement with principles of justice, legitimacy, or other political concepts, world-oriented approaches grant centrality and importance to engagement with social worlds. I propose two examples of world-oriented approaches, political philosophy as navigation and political philosophy as world-building, and argue that they are viable and worthy of further consideration.

Social scientists have become increasingly interested in how narratives -- the stories in fiction, politics, and life -- shape beliefs, behavior, and government policies. This paper provides a novel, unsupervised method to quantify latent narrative structures in text, drawing on computational linguistics tools for clustering coherent entity groups and capturing relations between them. After validating the method, we provide an application to the U.S. Congressional Record to analyze political and economic narratives in recent decades. Our analysis highlights the dynamics, sentiment, polarization, and interconnectedness of narratives in political discourse.

Political satire has had a prominent part to play in the social and political sphere of journalism in Iran since the appearance of an independent press in the country at the beginning of the twentieth century. This paper examines the problems of political satire in the Iranian press during the 2000s with respect to their historical context during the past century. The paper argues that, addressing the essential relationship between satire and criticism, and the primary role that criticism has in the freedom of press, what happened to political satire and satirists in Iran can be seen as an index of the freedom of the press and journalistic expression for an era.
