In view of the advanced development of new specific active pharmaceutical ingredients, the question arises as to whether the established standard procedures for the environmental risk assessment in the context of marketing authorization are still sufficient to adequately cover relevant effects on environmental organisms. The focus of this project is on specific test strategies for substances from the group of oncologicals, cardiologicals and statins, as well as their experimental verification in case studies. Studies with aquatic plants in the Lemna sp. Growth Inhibition Test (⁠OECD⁠ 221), the zebrafish embryo toxicity test (OECD 236) amended with sublethal endpoints and the comet assay with environmentally relevant cell types are discussed as possible adaptations, although not all of them proved to be suitable.

Die Gesundheit unserer Böden ist ein wichtiges politisches Ziel, das in viele Politikbereiche ausstrahlt. Daher ist es von besonderer Bedeutung, dass zum Bodenzustand und zur Erreichung der mit ihm in Bezug stehenden politischen Zielsetzungen berichtet werden kann. Dieser Teilbericht bietet eine Zusammenstellung der Indikatoren, mit denen bundesweit, in den einzelnen Bundesländern oder auch international zum Bodenzustand beziehungsweise zur Bodengesundheit berichtet wird. Darüber hinaus dokumentiert er in Konzeption befindliche Indikatoren und Indikatorideen. Außerdem gibt der Bericht einen Überblick über die bodenbezogenen politischen Ziele in fachlich verwandten Strategiepapieren der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der EU. Im Rahmen einer Lückenanalyse wurden die recherchierten Indikatoren den bodenbezogenen politischen Zielen zugeordnet. Hintergrund war die Frage, zu welchen bodenbezogenen politischen Zielen bisher noch nicht mit den vorhandenen Indikatoren berichtet werden kann, wo weiterer Informationsbedarf besteht und wie Ansätze aussehen könnten, die Lücken zu füllen.

Der vorliegende Bericht widmet sich der Fragestellung, wie sich das Recycling technischer Kunststoffe aus Elektroaltgeräten und Altfahrzeugen nachhaltig stärken lässt. Die Bedeutsamkeit der Thematik spiegelt sich in den Zielen der Europäischen Politik zur Stärkung des Recyclings von Kunststoffabfällen, der komplexer werdenden Produktvielfalt und nicht zuletzt dem erhöhten Aufkommen entsprechender Abfälle und damit verbundenen Umweltauswirkungen wider. Obwohl für das Recycling entsprechender Kunststoffe in Deutschland ein erhebliches Potential besteht, ist der Status als mangelhaft anzusehen und es Bedarf gezielter Maßnahmen, um flächendeckende Kapazitäten zu entwickeln. Der Bericht enthält einen umfassenden Sachstand zu den rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen, Materialanforderungen, eine Beschreibung der relevantesten Kunststofftypen sowie von Stör- und Schadstoffen beim Recycling, eine detaillierte Darstellung des Kunststoffeinsatzes in Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten sowie Fahrzeugen sowie eine detaillierte Beschreibung der existierenden Prozessketten für die Behandlung von Kunststoffen aus den beiden Abfallströmen. Zudem wurden praktische Versuche durchgeführt, in denen bisher wenig beachtete und zugleich vielversprechende Ansätze getestet wurden. Auf dieser Grundlage wurden Separations- und Recyclingstrategien abgeleitet sowie Maßnahmen und Handlungsempfehlungen für politische wie auch wirtschaftliche Akteure entwickelt. Die Strategien und Maßnahmen folgen dem übergeordneten Ziel, ökologisch sinnvolles werkstoffliches Kunststoffrecycling aus Elektroaltgeräten und Altfahrzeugen in Deutschland voranzubringen.

Der vorliegende Abschlussbericht fasst die zentralen Ergebnisse des Projektes Wissensplattform Nachhaltige Finanzwirtschaft zusammen. Das Forschungsprojekt trägt dazu bei, das Verständnis über den Themenkomplex Nachhaltige Finanzwirtschaft bei verschiedenen zentralen Stakeholdern zu erhöhen. Dazu zählen neben der Politik, der Realwirtschaft und der Zivilgesellschaft vor allem auch Beschäftigte der Finanzwirtschaft, insbesondere auch Auszubildende, Berufseinsteiger und Studierende. Im Abschlussbericht werden die zentralen Ergebnisse der Arbeitspakete und mögliche übergreifende Erkenntnisse zusammengefasst und vorgestellt.

In wasserbasierten, flüssigen Abfällen können möglicherweise Spurenstoffe enthalten sein, die im Anhang X der ⁠Wasserrahmenrichtlinie⁠ als prioritär gefährlich eingestuft sind, welche durch die Behandlung weitgehend umgewandelt oder eliminiert werden sollen. In diesem Vorhaben wurden umfangreiche Untersuchungen an zwei chemisch-physikalischen (CP) Behandlungsanlagen für wasserbasierte flüssige Abfälle durchgeführt und damit die Datengrundlagen in Bezug auf organische Spurenschadstoffe, sowohl als Einzelstoffe als auch als Summenparameter, in Abfällen vor der CP-Behandlung und im Abwasser aus den CP-Anlagen bereitgestellt. Darüber hinaus wurden geeignete organisatorische und technische Maßnahmen zur Minderung der Spurenstoffe im Abwasser aus CP-Anlagen identifiziert und darauf basierend ein Vorschlag für eine beste verfügbare Technik (BVT) für die nächste Revision des BVT-Merkblattes zur Abfallbehandlung erarbeitet.

This report is based on the results of a questionnaire on current and planned research and monitoring activities on litter in various environmental compartments, which was distributed to European countries via the Federal Environment Agency (UBA). It analyses current and planned research, monitoring activities, and mitigation strategies related to litter in groundwater, rivers, lakes, transitional, coastal and marine waters and soils. The report emphasizes the urgent need for widespread, standardized monitoring, intensive research, and coordinated efforts to mitigate litter pollution's far-reaching impacts. Despite some promising activities and practices, significant gaps persist in understanding the origins and pathways as well as effect of litter in the environment, especially in groundwater and soil environments, with few countries conducting research or implementing monitoring programs in these areas. The findings underscore the importance of an integrated European approach, the need for financial support, long-term studies, and strengthening the research and policy framework in line with EU environmental objectives.

"Sora Han's Mu, 49 Marks of Abolition is a work of radical legal theory in the form of an epic, 'stream of unconsciousness' prose poem that reads the law as a social text. Deploying polyglossic interpretation as a poetics of relation among English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and French-languages imbued with genealogical, colonial, theoretical and symbolic significance for Han-she develops a psychoanalytically inflected method of "dystranslation." After Han's father died in 2020, she took up the Korean Buddhist tradition of mu, mourning the dead for forty-nine days. Each of the book's forty-nine sections represent a day of mourning, an occasion for meditating on the law of surplus: surplus in language, surplus in oedipality, surplus of time in abeyance. Through engaging with texts across Asian and Asian American studies, Black studies, legal theory, and poetry, the book recalls the distinct post-1968 historical sense of "Asian American" as a radical anti-imperialist orientation of life and thought very much in conversation with other movements for social change.
