In recent years, scholars have begun to look afresh at the dynamics of English "imperial" power in the late medieval period, but the extent to which the English dominions were subject to English law and legislation – and why and how these influences varied between the regions, and over an extended period of time – has been considered less systematically, and rarely comparatively. With its focus on Wales and Ireland this discussion explores the synergies and the strains which shaped attitudes towards the authority of the late medieval English crown and which, ultimately, determined the extent of England's influence beyond its borders. It shows that these attitudes were often fundamentally conflicted and contradictory. It highlights the difficulties of the English crown in seeking to balance the elitist agenda of its English subjects, on the one hand, with its desire to bring the Welsh and Irish more squarely within the orbit of the English state system, on the other hand. It also highlights the often inconsistent attitudes within the dominions themselves, which veered between welcoming or resisting the interference of the English crown. The discussion emphasizes how interaction between the English crown and the people of its dominions was shaped above all by dialogue and negotiation.

As part of its 2020 Targets, Malta has been tasked by the European Union to reach a share of 10% with regard to its ratio of energy produced through renewable sources of energy. This has resulted in a proliferation of photovoltaic cells and solar water heaters on rooftops. Such investment has been rendered possible through generous Government assistance in the form of advantageous feed-in tariffs, which schemes have proven to be considerably popular with private consumers. Nonetheless, this increase in solar energy systems has not been complemented by the implementation of legislation aimed at protecting investment by private persons, with the risk of development in adjacent tenements and high rise buildings threatening such solar energy systems through shading, which could be of such an extent as to render the solar energy system affected economically unsustainable. This paper shall analyse Maltese legislation and international legislation alike in an attempt to provide solutions as to this issue and ensure that solar rights are made available to all. ; peer-reviewed

The article describes the modern legislation of legal regulation of trade secrets, in particular the provisions of the Civil Code of Ukraine. It is noted that legal relations in the field of trade secrets are governed by the Criminal and Commercial Codes of Ukraine, the Code of Administrative Offenses, a number of laws, including the Laws of Ukraine: «On Information», «On Protection against Unfair Competition», «On Banks and banking activity», «On advocacy and advocacy activity», «On state secret» and by-laws, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine «On the list of information that does not constitute a trade secret».The study found that in Ukraine, as in many other countries, new technologies, intellectual property and other products are created that contain trade secrets that need legal protection. Due to new information achievements, state borders are practically transparent for the circulation of information. In this case, the more this industry is involved in commercial turnover, the greater the need to protect the interests of the owners of trade secrets. Keywords: legal regulation, information, trade secret, legal responsibility, owner of trade secret, intellectual property, economic activity ;

The modern State faces an inflation of laws and other regulations. Many of them are imperfectly, even badly done. 'Legistics' or 'legisprudence' as research, teaching and learning of law-production tries to reduce quantity and improve quality of norms. It deals with analysis of norms, organisation and procedure of norm setting, content of law, legislative techniques and properly monitoring effective implementation of regulations. 'Legislative Science' wants to contribute to 'better regulation' as essential element of 'good governance'. This paper presents a survey of problems and possible solutions of legislation, mainly – although not exclusively – under legal aspects of the Constitutional State of the Western Tradition, as imprinted by Human Rights, Democracy and Rule of Law.

The central focus of this book is the interaction between law and tourism, with the view to attaining sustainable tourism. The book achieves its goal by approaching law and tourism from various angles. On the one hand, sustainable tourism is put in a broader context by, for example, outlining the principles and philosophy of sustainable tourism, and on the other by explaining how principles of sustainable tourism can be taught through educational programs in developing countries. The question therefore arises as to how a 'Global Code' could also be integrated in legal teaching. There are, more
