Where do we go and what is the fate of the European Union after Brexit Referendum? What are the prospects for the development of the "27-nation" formula and what are the real problems that the European Union cannot neglect for a long time? These are the most asked questions in the international press but also the speeches of Europe's important figures. The political leaders of the world propose a series of hypotheses and scenarios about the fate of the European Union. Some of them are encouraging, others grimmer, some more radical and others rather moderate. The present paper will discuss the most vulnerable points of the today European Union and will outline the scenarios for the future of this construction. It will be discussed the most plausible scenario and some political figures who sustain this evolution of the European Union by using a qualitative methodology.

Abstract:In the latest phase of European Union enlargement Bulgaria and Romania were admitted to EU membership on 1 January 2007. In the UK, media coverage of the accession process focused on the potential movement of large numbers of people from Eastern to Western European states; a particular focus was the crime risk associated with enlargement. This article examines how newspapers reported the perceived crime threats and assesses the extent to which the concerns can be understood as a moral panic. The article confirms the contemporary utility of moral panic analysis, albeit with some flexibility to reflect the modern media landscape.

The European Union (EU) has powers and responsibilities in the area of public health, while the organisation of healthcare facilities remains the concern of member states. However, a series of directives has, since the late 1970s, sought to ensure the right of individual practitioners to travel freely throughout the EU, both to obtain specialist training and to practise in all member states on the same basis as doctors working in the member states where they were first registered. More recently, there has been mutual recognition of completion of specialist training across the EU. A new directive concerning the mobility of medical practitioners across the EU is under discussion.

More than four decades and big financial funds mark the regional policy of the European Union. The social and economic cohesion is an essential matter nowadays for the Union and this cohesion is brought toguether in the numerous regulations and treaties that the Community follows. The enormous number of Financial instruments dedicated to ease off the strain between different regions, clearly shows that the Union still faces many problems. At the same time these incoveniences are increasing as new members join. There are still big internal differences however, that are slowing down the real convergence betwen regions. The differences Will become more marked in the future when the countries from Central and East Europe, that long for a membership, join the Union. ; Más de cuatro décadas e ingentes fondos financieros jalonan la política regional de la Unión Europea. La cohesión económica y social es hoy una cuestión primordial para la Comunidad y está recogida en los Tratados y numerosos Reglamentos que la encauzan. La multitud de Instrumentos Financieros dedicados a amainar los desequilibrios regionales habla bien a las claras de los numerosos problemas con que se enfrenta la Unión, que se iban agrandando a medida que se incorporaban nuevos miembros. Pero aún hoy subsisten grandes diferencias internas que están retardando la convergencia real de las regiones, que se acentuarán en los años próximos cuandose vayan incorporado los nuevos países de Europa Central y Oriental que aspiran a su ingreso.

This article discusses the potential of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) for the study of EU foreign policy and argues that CDA can provide a systematic way of studying discourses on EU foreign policy through the refined linguistic and argumentative tools that it offers. The article first outlines the main theoretical premises of CDA and its one particular variant, the discourse-historical approach, and then presents a discussion on its analytical and methodological toolkit. After discussing the various ways in which EU foreign policy texts can be subject to CDA, the article concludes with the theoretical challenges posed by CDA, particularly regarding its relationship with poststructuralist approaches to foreign policy. The situation in collective memory studies that share a nexus with the discipline of International Relations (IR) is currently reflective of the traditionally West-centric writing of European history. This order of things has become increasingly challenged after the eastern enlargement of the European Union (EU). This article examines Poland's and the Baltics' recent attempts to enlarge the mnemonic vision of 'the united Europe' by placing their 'subaltern pasts' in contest with the conventionally Western European-bent understanding of the consequences of World War II in Europe. I argue that their endeavours to wrench the 'European mnemonical map' apart in order to become more congruent with the different historical experiences within the enlarged EU encapsulate the curious trademark of Polish and Baltic post-Cold War politics of becoming European: their combination of simultaneously seeking recognition from and resisting the hegemonic 'core European' narrative of what 'Europe' is all about. Provided for under the Treaty of Lisbon, the accession of the European Union to the European Convention on Human Rights is destined to be a landmark in European legal history because it will finally make it possible for individuals and undertakings to apply to the European Court of Human Rights for review of the acts of European Union institutions, which unquestionably play an increasingly important role in our daily lives. After nearly three years of negotiations, a draft agreement on European Union accession was adopted on 5 April 2013. In the light of the draft agreement, this publication offers a concise analysis of the reasons for European Union accession to the Convention, the means by which this is to be achieved and the effects it will have.

Festering for a long time now, the financial collapse being witnessed has proven more problematic than any crisis in the past. The global financial meltdown has affected and continues to affect the livelihood of almost everyone in an increasingly interconnected world. Institutions have collapsed, stock markets have plummeted and governments in even the wealthiest nations have been forced to bail out their financial systems. The author compares Finland's economic crisis of the 1990s with that which is sending countries into disarray on a worldwide level today and establishes the reasons and possible solutions for this recession. He notes how fiscal and monetary policy measures alone cannot build a bridge over this severe recession. Moreover, he concludes by stressing that this crisis must be addressed alongside and not to the exclusion of other problems, underlining the importance of strengthening supervisory frameworks at a global and, more precisely, at EU level.
