This paper revisits the English School from the seminal work of Hedley Bull in 1977, passing by the efforts of Adam Watsom in the 80's, & culminating with Barry Buzan & Richard Little repagination in the 90's. It aims to rescue the school's historical ontology & sketch a research program that conciliates it with the French historiography one. One concludes that a system of multiple causalities can be detected in a systemic level, with material & psycho-social deep forces operating under the auspices of the concept of order, so crucial to this school. Political & diplomatic Relations between Portugal & France in the 20th century have seldom been approached by Portuguese historiography. The present article seeks to fill this gap for the period between 1958 & 1968. During the 1960's, Portugal fought two hard battles. One was in Africa, against the nationalist movements. The other, at the UN, was fought against the barrage of criticism & condemnation coming from the Afro-Asian group against the colonial policies of Salazar's New State. As it happened, France managed to support the Portuguese regime, helping it avoid its utmost international isolation & upholding its war effort in Africa. Adapted from the source document.

Since 2000 there is a new bibliography on the Spanish Civil War with new tendencies on the historiography of this crucial period. Their starting point is the Right-wing government of the Partido Popular (1996-2004) & its ideological vision of the Civil War. The politicization of this issue is to be found on general works rather than historical & scientific research, where high standards have been maintained. The research on the War of 1936-1939 is still haunted by old problems & now also by more recent ones, including the memory of the conflict in present day democratic Spain. The main surprises came from works exploring new sources such as the former Soviet Union archives or from research using more sophisticated methodologies. References. The article tries to relate Portuguese historiographical literature of the colonial period of East Timor as the source of arguments for a postcolonial fictional literature through two works of great importance for the understanding of the period. The narratives of the works As possessões Portuguesas na Oceania of Afonso de Castro of 1867 and Ocupação e Colonização Branca de Timor of Teófilo Duarte of 1940, both former Portuguese governors of Timor-Leste, are abundant and present facts of great literary beauty, that as facts historical, tell the saga of the Timorese people. With this direction, the article traces the process of colonization in the trail of the Great Navigations that initiated the globalization and the cultural domination to culminate in the official historiography of Timor and the literary arguments that can be harvested from it. The work is part of the doctoral research of one of its authors and as a methodology, the bibliographic research was carried out to historical documents present in the Postgraduate Library of the National University of Timor Lorosa'e.
