Worldwide governments are promoting online health services, such as electronic health record (EHR) patient portals and, as a result, the deployment and use of these services. Overall, this makes the adoption of patient-accessible EHR portals an important field to study and understand. Objective: The aim of this study is to understand the factors that drive individuals to adopt EHR portals. Methods: We applied a new adoption model using, as a starting point, Ventkatesh's Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology in a consumer context (UTAUT2) by integrating a new construct specific to health care, a new moderator, and new relationships. To test the research model, we used the partial least squares (PLS) causal modelling approach. An online questionnaire was administrated. We collected 360 valid responses. Results: The statistically significant drivers of behavioral intention are performance expectancy (beta=.200; t=3.619), effort expectancy (beta=.185; t=2.907), habit (beta=.388; t=7.320), and self-perception (beta=.098; t=2.285). The predictors of use behavior are habit (beta=0.206; t=2.752) and behavioral intention (beta=0.258; t=4.036). The model explained 49.7% of the variance in behavioral intention and 26.8% of the variance in use behavior. Conclusions: Our research helps to understand the desired technology characteristics of EHR portals. By testing an information technology acceptance model, we are able to determine what is more valued by patients when it comes to deciding whether to adopt EHR portals or not. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To update and re-validate the Valuing Patients as Individuals Scale for use as a patient appraisal of received healthcare. BACKGROUND: Healthcare in the United Kingdom and beyond is required to deliver high quality, person-centred care that is clinically effective and safe. However, patient experience is not uniform, and complaints often focus on the way patients have been treated. Legislation in United Kingdom requires health services to gather and use patients' evaluations of care to improve services. DESIGN: This study uses scoping literature reviews, cognitive testing of questionnaire items with patient and healthcare staff focus groups, and exploratory factor analysis. METHODS/SETTING/PARTICIPANTS: Data were collected from 790 participants across 34 wards in two acute hospitals in one National Health Service Health Board in Scotland from September 2011-February 2012. Ethics and Research and Development approval were obtained. RESULTS: Fifty six unique items identified through literature review were added to 72 original Valuing Patients as Individuals Scale items. Face validity interviews removed ambiguous or low relevance items leaving 88 items for administration to patients. Two hundred and ninety questionnaires were returned, representing 37% response rate, 71 were incomplete. Thus 219 complete data were used for Exploratory Factor Analysis with varimax orthogonal rotation. This revealed a 31 item, three factor solution, Care and Respect; Understanding and Engagement; Patient Concerns, with good reliability, concurrent and discriminant validity in terms of gender. A shortened 10 item measure based on the top 3 or 4 loading items on each scale was comparable. CONCLUSIONS: The Updated Valuing Patients as Individuals Scale is sufficiently developed to capture patient appraisals of received care. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: The short scale version is now being routinized in real-time evaluation of patient experience contributing to this United Kingdom, National Health Service setting meeting its policy and legislative requirements.

We use data from the 2012-2015 TRICARE Standard Survey to examine factors that affect civilian health care providers' acceptance of patients covered by the U.S. Department of Defense's TRICARE insurance program and Medicare. We find that 74% of physicians report that they accept new TRICARE patients compared with 83% accepting new Medicare patients; in contrast, only 36% of mental health providers report that they accept new Medicare and/or TRICARE patients. Among the most common reasons provided by both physicians and mental health providers for not accepting either insurance type are insufficient reimbursement or their specialty not being covered; lack of awareness of TRICARE is also frequently cited, particularly among mental health providers. These findings suggest that successful strategies to increase provider acceptance of TRICARE and Medicare may include improving reimbursement rates and specialty coverage and increasing provider awareness of TRICARE through outreach programs.

BACKGROUND: Men living in low- and middle-income countries are unlikely to seek mental health care, where poor healthcare infrastructure, differences in illness conceptualization, and stigma can impact treatment seeking. Vulnerable groups, such as former political prisoners, are more likely than others to experience potentially traumatic events that may lead to negative mental health outcomes. To improve the likelihood of successful engagement of vulnerable men in psychotherapy, it is necessary to identify factors that influence treatment adherence, and to better understand men's attitudes surrounding decisions to seek and initiate care. The purpose of this investigation was to explore themes of masculinity, treatment seeking, and differences between male former political prisoners who accepted and declined therapy in an urban low-income context. METHODS: We conducted a qualitative, interview-based investigation with 30 former political prisoners in Yangon, Myanmar who were eligible to receive mental health counseling provided by the non-governmental organization (NGO), Assistance Association for Political Prisoners. Men were initially screened using a composite questionnaire with items related to depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress symptom severity. After screening, if potential clients were identified as having probable mental health problems, they were asked if they would like to participate in a multi-session cognitive behavioral therapy program. Semi-structured, open-ended interviews were conducted with 15 participants who accepted and 15 participants who declined therapy. Interviews were transcribed and translated by local partners and thematically coded by the authors. We used thematic analysis to identify and explore differences in treatment-seeking attitudes between men who accepted and men who declined the intervention. RESULTS: Men described that being a community leader, self-reliance, morality, and honesty were defining characteristics of masculinity. A focus on self-correction often led to declining psychotherapy. A general lack of familiarity with psychological therapy and how it differed from locally available treatments (e.g. astrologists) was connected to stigma regarding mental health treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Masculinity was described in similar terms by both groups of participants. The interpretation of masculine qualities within the context of help-seeking (e.g. self-reliance as refusing help from others versus listening to others and applying that guidance) was a driving factor behind men's decision to enter psychotherapy.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of relational marketing and service quality to customer value and its impact on customer trust. The method used is quantitative with expert judgment. The sample of this research is inpatient of BPJS health participant at Public Hospital owned by Local Government in West Java Province. Technique of data retrieval is done by cluster proportional random sampling and analysis technique used is SEM analysis (structural equation modeling). The results of descriptive research indicate that relational marketing, service quality, customer value and customer trust move from less good to sanga tbaik. The results of the study of each indicator is still found some less than optimal. The result of verifikatif research proves that relational marketing and service quality have positive and significant effect to customer value and customer value have positive and significant influence to customer trust.

Objective: To analyze the contextual factors that influence the performance of nurses in primary health care front for leprosy patients. Method: The present work refers to an analytical essay based on the theoretical framework of contextual analysis, as a source of meaning and knowledge, in which the contextual levels are divided into four interactive layers: the immediate context, context specific and general context metacontext. Results: Contextual levels were presented in the following topics: actions of nurses in primary health care across the leprosy patient (immediate context); nurse's role in the scope of primary health care (specific context); beliefs, myths and fears that underlie the leprosy (general context), and policies that subsidize care for leprosy patients (metacontext). Objective: To evaluate the quality of care provided for people with HIV/AIDS at the Reference Center for the
treatment of AIDS in Natal-RN, in the health professionals' perspective. Methods: Evaluative and quantitative
research conducted in a public hospital in Natal/RN, from August 2010 to July 2011, through structured
interviews with professionals who provide care for people with HIV. Results: The evaluation of the service
was considered satisfactory by 58.8% of respondents, standing on nine indicators: support offered by the
service, convenience of service hours, host, provided guidance on treatment, timeliness of health professionals,
availability of antiretroviral drugs, availability of laboratory tests, professional/user relationship and ease of
access to service. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in satisfaction with the indicators: punctuality
of professionals, convenience of service timetables and availability of laboratory tests.
