Preparations for the commemorative ceremony of the seventh anniversary of the death of President Venustiano Carranza, which will include a speech given by B.A. Luis Cabrera. "Gen. Obregón was nominated for the Presidency by the Convention of the Border Party". EXCELSIOR. Mexico City. May 18th, 1927. During the Convention in Ciudad Victoria proposals and initiatives were discussed such as: Tamaulipas being declared the first port of the Republic; Election regulations; Highway construction; Establishment of schools and social and economic improvement for women. Gen. Alvaro Obregón was nominated as a candidate for the Presidency. / "Será conmemorada la muerte de Venustiano Carranza". EXCELSIOR. México, D.F. Mayo 18, 1927. Preparativos de la ceremonia conmemorativa del séptimo aniversario de la muerte del Presidente Venustiano Carranza, en la cual el Lic. Luis Cabrera pronunciará un discurso. "Fue declarado el Gral. Durante la Convención en Ciudad Victoria se discutieron proyectos e iniciativas tales como que: Tamaulipas fuese declarado primer puerto de la República; reglamentación de elecciones; construcción de carreteras; establecimiento de escuelas y mejoramiento económico y social de la mujer. Se propuso como candidato a la Presidencia al Gral. Obregón.
