The paper lists, discusses and historically reviews all UN resolutions on Jerusalem, starting with Resolution 181 of 1948 (on partition) up to the Security Council Reaction to the Massacre at Al-Haram Al-Sharif on 8 October 1990. Conclusion: no significant action has been taken to implement UN policies and to change the present status of Jerusalem according to international resolutions

Im Kontext eines Überblicks über die Rolle der Frauen in der palästinensischen Nationalbewegung seit der Mandatszeit werden Widersprüche und Dilemmas aufgezeigt, die auch in der gegenwärtigen Debatte über Status und politische Beteiligung der Frauen von zentraler Bedeutung sind wie: Frauen als Symbol für moralische Reinheit und Ehrenhaftigkeit oder der Konflikt zwischen sozialem Wandel und Bewahrung des kulturellen Erbes. The different histories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip led to several divisions between the two regions. The paper adresses how federal relationship in the Palestinian Territories could ensure their integrity and safety as a single unit and how the two areas may be represented in national bodies. Considerable attention is given to the limitations regarding the transitional phase that are inherent in the DoP, and which will hinder attempts at securing cohesion between the two areas.
