The purpose of this paper is to advance some hypothesis on social and political condition of the new popular classes in Europe. After discussing the theoretical point of view, in second paragraph the paper is focused on the key category of "popular class" moving then – in the third and the fourth paragraph – to analyze some sociological characteristics of it, both as "social actor" and "social condition". The main rising hypothesis are that popular classes, as "social condition", are characterized by misery and sociopolitical disintegration; as social actor, they are characterized by neo‐populism (inside popular class) and neofundamentalism (outside popular class).

In a sociological perspective, this article is focus on the analysis of measuring immigrants integration through Italian statistical administrative system. Afterward focusing shortly on methodological and theoretical approach following in the essay (the sociology of public statistic), in the second paragraph it is analyzed the Italian public statistic system, the fundamental frame in order to develop an analytic framework to study the social and institutional process of measuring immigrants integration (the third paragraph). On this basis, the latest paragraphs show the finding of our analysis: after a promising beginning at the end of XX Century by the input of the Law "Turco-Napolitano", the question has been put aside for a long time. Just in recent years, it has caught by European Union inputs. This process is not only a methodological sequence but the finding of a gradual political and national systemic overlook about the importance of integration in Italian Society.

During his 1993 "Reith Lectures", published in Representa-tions of Intellectual (1993), the very famous Palestinian scholar Edward Said highlighted to take position against ideological trivialize of events and social phenomena – in particular that by mass media – is the main mission of contemporary social critique. On the contrary, social critique should point out complexity and ambivalence of the social reality.In this way, deep intellectual work by Farhad Khosrokhavar – student of Alain Touraine, Directeur d'études at "Centre d'analyse et d'intervention sociologiques" in Paris (CADIS, "École des hautes études en sciences sociales") – has been moved. He is author a lot of influential books about the relationship between religions, politics and society, as Inside Jihadism, Understanding Jihadi Movements Worldwide (Yale Cultural Sociology Series 2008), The New Arab Revolutions that Shook the World, (Paradigm Publishers, Boulder and London 2012). In Italian language they also translated: I nuovi martiri di Allah (Bruno Mondadori, Milano, 2003), La ricerca di Sé. Dialogo sul soggetto (co-author Alain Touraine, Il Saggiatore, Milano 2003).We got through to Professor Khosrokhavar in his Parisian office, in order to ask him some questions about what is happening in European societies afterwards the terrorist attacks in Paris in 7th January 2015.
