The aim of article is to select a set of variables that affect decisions about the size of the expenditure incurred on recreation and culture in households of pensioners in Poland. The basis of the information of researches were unidentifiable microdata on income and expenditure of individual households from the household budget survey conducted in 2009 by the GUS (Central Statistical Office) which were associated with the results of a survey "Tourism and recreation in households" conducted by the GUS in the same year. The integrated data set consisted of 1,308 households of pensioners. The study takes into account, first of all, the categorization variables and therefore to a "best" set of factors characterizing household spending on recreation and culture used log-linear analysis. Using log-linear model has enabled more precise description of the relationships between categorization variables compared with indicators used to assess the quality characteristics of interdependence. In addition, log-linear analysis allowed to assess the impact of interactions between variables.

The article tries to answer the question about what factors have had an influence to decision taken by pensioners about touristic trips. The study was conducted on the basis of the results of a sample survey of individual trips made by retired in 2009. A multivariate analysis of compliance was used as a research tool. The Ward's method was used due to the large number of variants of the analyzed variables. It allowed to determine links between variations of variables.

This book presents novel research that represents a multidimensional approach to green energy. Each chapter addresses its subject from diverse perspectives, including financial, technological, and social. The results shown also consider various approaches to the collection and processing of data on green energy. The book also reports on analyses of data from official records and databases, as well as the analysis of primary data obtained directly. The book will be of interest to those working in green energy as well as researchers interested in the methods of scientific research.

Abstract
Research background: The study was conducted and based on the project The assessment of mental condition, financed by the Ministry of Health as part of the National Health Program for 2016–2020 (operational objective 3: Prevention of mental health problems and improvement of mental well-being of society). The article focuses on a group of teachers and university lecturers from eight voivodeships selected for the study, whereas burnout was selected from the areas of mental disorders.
Purpose: The main objective of the study was to identify the regularities in the relationship between the level of professional burnout and selected demographic characteristics in the group of teachers and university lecturers. Additionally, the spatial diversity of the percentage of respondents diagnosed with occupational burnout was examined.
Research methodology: Two methods from the multi-dimensional statistical analysis were used: a classification tree analysis, and a correspondence analysis.
Results: The methods used allowed to classify the studied professional group in terms of the degree of occupational burnout. The results obtained using both the classification trees and multidimensional correspondence analysis allowed the identification of similar regularities regarding the impact of demographic variables on the level of occupational burnout.
Novelty: The application of multidimensional statistical analysis methods to study mental health based on individual, unique data from eight Polish voivodeships.

The main purpose of this article is the presentation of the relationships of coopetition among the internal stakeholders of a cluster that could contribute to the development of tourism in its area of operation. This analysis is based on the case study of the Historical Tourism Cluster, which operates on the Polish-German border. This article is theoretical and conceptual in nature. In it, the following research methods have been used: a critical analysis of the literature, logical inference, and observation. Currently, clusters are considered to be among the organizations with promising perspectives for development. The EU has decided to support transnational clusters in its latest strategy (after 2020). In this case, the specialization of the cluster (historical tourism) could be an obstacle. However, this article indicates how the cluster described here could make use of the existing development opportunities.

The main purpose of the paper is to present proposals for the study of relationships between the dimensions of sustainable development and other areas of the EU countries' development: innovation and competitiveness both from theoretical and practical perspective. The first part presents the assumptions adopted by the authors, and the second the 2-stage research procedure. In the first stage, the relative taxonomic measure of development was calculated, while in the next one the correlation coefficients between considered dimensions and areas were calculated. According to the authors, in the studies of relationships between sustainable development and other considered areas, one should take into account all of the particular dimensions and areas creating the research phenomena.

Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the pace and directions of changes (understood as: improvement or deterioration) occurring in selected areas of sustainable development of EU Member States. The paper analyzes dynamics of changes in selected areas of sustainable development monitored on the basis of headline indicators published by Eurostat from 2008 to 2015. In the paper, three variants of reference points of synthetic measure of development were considered. On the basis of the obtained results, the countries in which the improvement in the sustainable development and its deterioration can be observed were identified. The results have confirmed the existence of significant developmental disparities between EU Member States in this field, but it should be noted that the obtained results depend on the methodological approach both to the selection of features and the adoption of a specific standardization formula, as well as the considered variants of reference points. The results obtained can be utilized in subsequent years to examine the directions of change observed both from the point of view of European Union as one organization, and the individual EU Member States.

Consistent socio-economic development is one of the strategic goals of the European Union (EU) functioning. The research results presented in the literature focus mainly on the comparison of the position occupied by certain EU countries with respect to other member countries. However, it is also important to address the issue of the EU consistency and to assess the extent of development disparities between individual member countries. The aim of the study is a comparative analysis of the disproportions between the EU countries in the area of sustainable development. Sustainable development indicators for the years 2008—2014 available in the Eurostat database were used in the paper. A dynamic version of the relative taxonomy proposed by Stanisław Wydymus was used in the study. The analysis showed that there are strong disproportions in the development of the EU member countries — it turned out that in every geographical region of Europe there are countries with high positions in the ranking, as well as those with low positions. The leader in the whole analysed period was Sweden, with the last place taken by Malta.

The article presents the results of a study whose main objective was to answer the question to what extent the use of the computer and the Internet supports learning in higher education. The study also made it possible to know the status of the equipment the students in the computer equipment, how to use it and to assess their skills. The survey was conducted in April and May 2015 among full-time students of the largest Szczecin universities. The study used statistical methods aiming at the characteristics of the distributions of responses and relationships between them. In addition, the authors used multivariate correspondence analysis (suitability) to identify the coexistence of selected categories of characteristics.

The aim of the study is the evaluation of the socio-economic situation of Poland in comparison to EU countries and the identification of the homogeneous groups of countries according to their level of development. The authors applied two approaches. The first approach classifies the countries according to social and economic variables separately. The linear ordering of countries was conducted by means of method using Weber's median vector. The homogeneous groups of countries were identified with application of the three medians method and the method of the analysis of taxonomic measure differences of development proposed by the authors. The second approach divides countries into the homogeneous groups according to social and economic variables at the same time. Therefore the multi-criteria taxonomy was applied. The data came from Central Statistical Office of Poland and Eurostat.
