Selon John Dewey, l'autogouvernement (self-governement) consiste au droit et à la capacité de chacun de participer activement à la régulation de ses conditions d'existence et de ses activités sociales (Zask, 2010). À partir d'un survol des écrits de John Dewey et Jane Addams, cet essai vise à rapporter et à analyser les principaux défis et obstacles de la réalisation de l'autogouvernement. Nous explorons plus spécifiquement les conditions et les contingences politiques, le besoin de réactualisation constante de cet idéal en fonction d'une démarche expérimentale et réflexive, l'absence de démocratie des activités économiques et industrielles, le manque d'opportunité d'apprentissage continu ainsi que les figures de domination et de paternalisme s'imposant dans les relations sociales. ; According to John Dewey, self-government is the right and ability of everyone to participate actively in the regulation of their living conditions and social activities (Zask, 2010). Drawing from an overview of the writings of John Dewey and Jane Addams, this essay aims to detail and analyze the main challenges and obstacles to achieving self-government. Of primary focus are political contingencies, the concrete valuation and the constant re-actualization of this ideal according to an experimental and reflective approach, the exclusion of democracy from economic activities and the industrial world, the lack of lifelong learning opportunities, and the different forms of domination and paternalism in social relations.

In order to reinforce the embankment a retaining wall composed of aligned stakes was built at the beginning of the 1 st c. AD. It was later replaced by a caisson construction covered by a pavement. This construction seemed to last until the 2 nd c. AD, at the apogee of the urban settlement. Un altro gruppo di scienziati ritiene invece che il governo italiano debba favorire l'agricoltura biologica e biodinamica e ne spiega le ragioni. Il presente articolo espone prima la lettera SETA, e poi il punto di vista di altri ecologi, economisti, pedologi, ecologi, scrittori e artisti italiani e internazionali, tendenzialmente "protettori della natura" ma non idealisti. The sometimes asper debate brought to light some crucial aspects: 1) even experienced specialists may have various opinions based on scientific knowledge that lead to conflicting proposals for action. For some of them there is evidence that to restore a destroyed natural environment it is more judicious to do nothing; 2) the soil corresponds to a living structure and every ecosystem's management should be based on it; 3) faced with a catastrophe, people and politicians find themselves unarmed, also because they rarely have the scientific background to understand natural processes. Yet politicians are the only persons who make the key decisions that drive the economy in play and therefore determine the near future of our planet. This article is an attempt to respond directly to a governor with a degree in animal production science, who formally and prudently asked a university department called "Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry" for help before taking decisions; 4) the authors also propose an artistic interpretation of facts (uncontrolled storm) and conclusions (listen to the soil). Briefly, the authors identify the soil as an indispensable source for the renewal of the destroyed forest, give indications on how to prepare a map of the soils of the damaged region, and suggest to anchor on this soil map a series of silvicultural and soil management actions that will promote the soil conservation and the faster recovery of the natural dynamic stability and resilience.
