A critique of a poll review by Andrew A. Beveridge & Fredrica Rudell (see SA 37:1/89U1863), who argued that the 1985 report of the National Science Board on public attitudes toward science & technology is a flawed document. Here, it is shown that it is the Public Opinion Quarterly poll review process itself that is flawed. Beveridge & Rudell perceived a gap in the data collection series, which led them to make recommendations designed to improve the reliability & validity of future studies.
