The book offers a characterization of the meaning and role of the notion of truth in natural languages and an explanation of why, in spite of the big amount of proposals about truth, this task has proved to be resistant to the different analyses. The general thesis of the book is that defining truth is perfectly possible and that the average educated philosopher of language has the tools to do it. The book offers an updated treatment of the meaning of truth ascriptions from taking into account the latest views in philosophy of language and linguistics.

El nombramiento de González Bravo como primer ministro, tras la muerte del duque de Valencia, trajo consigo una concatenación de infaustas decisiones, desatando una muerte anunciada, que terminó por cristalizarse en la Revolución septembrina; desde la deposición del partido moderado al autodestierro de la reina Isabel II. Este artículo analiza estos sucesos en base a un pormenorizado y exhaustivo vaciado de la prensa coetánea, prestando especial atención al discurso crítico y analítico de los diarios progresistas, en especial La Nueva Iberia, a fin de conocer en profundidad qué noticias ocupaban los diarios; cuáles eran las que realmente preocupaban a la ciudadanía; qué cuestiones y/o disputas transcendieron del plano estrictamente político, implicándose los bastiones editoriales representantes de los grandes partidos; hasta qué punto la prensa ejerció su función de cuarto poder; y cuál fue su grado de conocimiento en todo aquel proceso revolucionario

This article is a critical reflection on human rights obligations and the changes that have taken place in their conception and functions, as well as their impact on the protection of human rights – especially in crises. The text is divided into two parts. The first section presents the features that characterise human rights obligations while focusing on the arguments that give them identity and reinforce their binding nature, with human beings as the subjects of rights and beneficiaries of obligations that broaden the responsibility of the obligated states. The second section analyses these obligations in times of crisis, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, this piece of research focuses on two significant legal situations based on the relevant elements of obligations: on one hand, it critically reflects on the derogative clauses in obligations, and, on the other hand, reviews the prohibition of regression or dilution of human rights as a guarantee for the maintenance of such obligations

El sistema residencial de protección chileno ha sido duramente criticado por fracasar en garantizar un adecuado ambiente de protección y cuidado. El presente artículo reflexiona acerca de los principales desafíos que se deben asumir de cara al proceso constituyente para hacerse cargo de las causas estructurales de la crisis del sistema residencial chileno. Sobre la base de una revisión documental y un análisis descriptivo y crítico, se plantea que el actual sistema no se adapta al modelo de los derechos humanos. Con un fuerte énfasis en la caridad, el Estado de Chile ha tendido a delegar la responsabilidad de cuidado y protección de la niñez y adolescencia en entidades privadas, lo que ha comprometido seriamente el ejercicio de sus derechos. Así, el proceso constituyente, de pretender hacerse cargo de la vociferada "crisis del Sename", debe culminar en un modelo de Estado que asuma su responsabilidad y posición de garante de los derechos humanos de la niñez.

Colonization processes have their continuation in the colonized person, a phenomenon studied by psychiatrists Fanon and Memmi in the 1960s. Currently, this phenomenon is defined as coloniality and is made up of three dimensions: the coloniality of power, knowledge and being. For this study, we wondered if the conquest of Andalusia continued in coloniality, and if so whether it has consequences today. To address these issues, we analyzed the coloniality of power and being and their consequences in the population of Alcalá de Guadaíra using the bibliographic sources that exist in that locality. The results indicate that it is a population with no history prior to the conquest, structured in poor workers and wealthy landowners, with collective trauma, sheltered in family and religion, and without cultural references. The current consequences of this coloniality are observed in the loss of historical heritage, the preservation of a fractured population of rich and poor, and no memory of the trauma experienced. The recovery of historical consciousness is identified as one of the keys to overcoming this coloniality

El presente artículo examina de qué manera durante los primeros años de retorno democrático desde un sector de la intelectualidad argentina se instala como necesaria la construcción de una nueva lengua pública que se desembarace de los excesos retóricos e ideológicos que primaron en los años sesenta y setenta. Se confrontan las operaciones lingüísticas llevadas a cabo por dichas voces intelectuales con el trabajo que en los mismos años realiza Rodolfo Fogwill sobre la lengua. Se analizan principalmente sus artículos periodísticos comprendidos entre los años 1984 y 1986. Se propone leer en ellos una serie de actos de habla críticos, que reactivan algunas de las tonalidades de la lengua de los '70 que contravienen -en el nivel discursivo- el pacto de "tolerancia" y "razonabilidad" que demandaba la nueva lengua de la democracia. ; The paper examines how, during the firsts years after the democratic recovery in Argentina, it became necessary, from the perspective of a certain group of intellectuals, to arrange a new public language capable of get rid of the rhetorical and ideological excess of the Sixties and the Seventies. We confront those linguistic operations with Rodolfo Fogwill`s work during the same years. We examine principally the journalistic texts written between 1984 and 1986, reading there a series of critical speech acts, which revitalize certain tone of the Seventies, which disobeys –in a discursive level- the "tolerant" and "reasonable" pact the new democratic language was demanding.

El presente trabajo aborda un corpus de películas del cine argentino que se confronta con un episodio trágico de su historia reciente, el provocado por la dictadura militar de 1976-1983. Lo hace desde una mirada de la infancia. Se trata de Kamchatka (2002), Andrés no quiere dormir la siesta (2009) y la muy reconocida Infancia clandestina (2011). Dicha mirada es, en parte, consecuencia del afianzamiento de una voz por parte de la generación siguiente a la protagonista de los hechos, es decir la generación de la así llamada "post-memoria". La recreación de una mirada infantil es uno de los recursos mediante los que la ficción lleva a cabo un aporte no sólo para la comprensión de cómo funciona la memoria, sino también del funcionamiento de otros discursos que atraviesan los imaginarios sociales, tales como la historiografía.

Climate change is frequently viewed as a risk multiplier in the context of the preexisting social, economic and environmental conditions that constitute the key risk factors for each community. The lack of a link between climate change, migration and the legal treatment of the category of refugee is clear. The legal instruments currently at our disposal, many of them shaped years ago, do not consider aspects that generate debate today, while others can only serve as subsidiary instruments. Defining state responsibility for climate change is one of the most complex issues. On the other hand, restricting protection to those affected by climate change issues would marginalise others affected by geo-environmental phenomena and changes, which could be discussed legally in terms of responsibilities but not in terms of human rights. Once this approach is established, regional or bilateral solutions would be the preferred way forward. Adapted from the source document.
