The sharing economy represents a new business model which has been experiencing an unprecedented and increasing boom. However, differences are evident in the development of the sharing economy between individual continents and even countries, this being to the detriment of less developed countries such as post-communist countries. The aim of the study is to present a model of the sharing economy from the point of view of the practical experience of a small post-communist economy: the Czech Republic. An explanation of how the term sharing economy is defined and understood in a national context is provided in the chapter, and alternative types of the sharing economy which are applied in this country are specified. Discussion is presented of the key issues of an economic and legislative nature which are dealt with in the context of the model of the sharing economy in this country. Key and other major players in the sharing economy in the Czech Republic are also presented, and the scope of the sharing economy in this country is analysed and evaluated. The development of the sharing economy is discussed in relation to the opportunities and threats associated with this phenomenon.

The paper deals with the issue of web communication of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by companies of high profile industries, specifically by the chemical industry enterprises operating in the Czech Republic. Based on the content analysis of the websites of companies in the Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic, employing 60 percent of workers and generating more than 70 percent of the production of this industry, it analyzes and evaluates the level of CSR communication of these companies in economic, social, environmental, ethical and philanthropic areas. The study shows that the level of communication of CSR activities of chemical companies in the Czech Republic is low and corresponds to the low level of CSR communication in this country. Chemical industry companies mostly communicate activities falling within the sphere of economic and environmental responsibility, completely neglecting activities of ethical responsibility. In all areas of CSR, large corporations communicate a larger range of activities than small and medium enterprises, with no significant difference in communication between national and foreign companies. Abstract
The sharing of idle assets, on which the sharing economy model is based, is associated with positive economic, environmental, and social effects, the creation of which is the basis of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). It would therefore seem expedient to examine the context of these phenomena, which have recently been gaining in importance, although they still remain outside mainstream research. So far, there is no study which comprehensively characterises the current state of knowledge of the context of the sharing economy and CSR, identifies research gaps, and postulates directions for future research in this area. This article addresses this gap by utilising a standalone literature review approach. An analysis of 20 publications, published on this topic in 2017–2021 in journals registered in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, was carried out. Four main research clusters were identified, these being (1) The sharing economy as a tool of the CSR concept; (2) The joint contribution of the sharing economy model and the concept of CSR towards reduction of overconsumption and wastage; (3) The importance of CSR communication for sharing economy platforms; and (4) The antagonistic relationship between the sharing economy model and the concept of CSR. The performed analysis shows the fragmented nature of existing research, but also the progressive nature of this area of research. At the same time, useful avenues for future research are postulated. This should focus on multiple lines of inquiry, including the possibility of incorporating different forms of B2B sharing into the concept of CSR, assessing the benefits, limitations, and risks of linking these two concepts, as well as exploring the synergies between the sharing economy model and the concept of CSR from the point of view of different industries, sharing segments, or regions.

This paper deals with the management of projects co-financed by European Union funds (structural funds and the Cohesion Fund) in the Czech Republic (EU projects). The authors aimed to analyze and assess the scope of familiarity with basic project management methods and their application within the implementation of EU projects in the Czech Republic in the Programming Period 2007–2013. Based on a questionnaire survey of EU project organisers, the authors evaluate their attitudes to project management methods as effectiveness improvement tools. The analysis also considers the degree of dependence between familiarity with project management methods, their application, and their effectiveness as perceived by EU project organisers. Finally, it presents recommendations to the institutional authorities and project organisers with respect to applications during the Programming Period 2014–2020. We can state that project management methods were not applied to a sufficient extent. To improve the effectiveness of the implementation of EU projects, EU fund provider's methodical instructions have to include the obligations or recommendations to apply project management methods, mainly methods applicable within more project management knowledge areas and within more project life cycle stages (i.e. Logical Framework, Pre-Project Study with Formalized Structure, Formalized Risk Analysis and Formalized Project Communication Plan).

This paper deals with the problems of projects co-financed by European Union funds (structural funds and the Cohesion fund) in the Czech Republic within the Programming Period 2007 – 2013 from the point of view of the knowledge and use of project management methods within implementation of these projects. The authors aimed to analyse and assess the scope of knowledge and the rate of utilization of project management methods by the solvers of projects co-financed by EU funds in the Programming Period 2007 – 2013 and to evaluate the influence of the project solvers' attitude to project management on the scope of knowledge and the rate of utilization of project management methods. At first, the paper characterizes the basic project management methods, and then it discusses the outcomes of a questionnaire survey focused on the knowledge of the basic project management methods and their utilization within implementation of projects co-financed by EU funds, and that also in view of the project solvers' attitude to the above methods as efficiency improving tools. At the same time, these outcomes are compared with the outcomes of the research performed by Spolecnost pro projektove rizeni, which evaluated the scope of awareness and rate of utilization of the basic project management methods in the Czech Republic.
