The present collection of country reports represents the collective work of the following RESPOND national teams: Uppsala Universitet (Swedish report), the Glasgow Caledonian University (Hungarian report), Georg-August Universitat Gottigenstiftung Offentlichen Rechts (German report), University of Cambridge (British report), Svenska Forkningsinstitute i Istanbul (Turkish report), Università di Firenze (Italian report and European Union report), Panepistimio Aigaiou (Greek report), Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschafte (Austrian report), Uniwersytet Warszawski (Polish report), Lebanon Support (Lebanese report), Hammurabi Human Rights Organization (Iraqi report). The activities of this Work Package (WP1) have been coordinated by the University of Florence. We are indebted to all the authors for the competence and enthusiasm with which they fulfilled their tasks and for their collaborative approach. Each report underwent a double review process: the review by a national expert appointed by national teams, and the review by the work package leader. Architectural structures are often found in both in the monumen- tal and in the easel painting of Siena in the 15th century, but it is in the predella polyptychs that they enter into dialogue with human figures, creating harmo- nious compositions or original contrasts. In some works, they serve as a deco- rative background for narrative scenes, while in others they become integral parts of them. This article demonstrates that, despite the strong attachment of the Sienese artists of the Quattrocento era to the medieval tradition, it is in the predella polyptychs of the 15th century that innovations in the field of depicting architectural structures are adopted. Through the examination of a number of scenes from the predella of the sienese polyptychs, it became obvious that it was in the architectura picta that artists had greater freedom and depicted architec- tural innovations that had not yet been reflected in actual Sienese architecture. There are many predella fragments depicting architectural structures, but they have not been fully documented. The brief excursion reported in this study aims to review the most representative samples, organize them chronologically and analyze their evolution through almost the entire 15th century.
"The aim of this paper is to highlight and briefly discuss some of the most problematic terms and concepts that recur in art historiography: for example, the words Byzantine, post-Byzantine, Eastern, Western and Local. These concepts are used in a misleading way not only by American and Western European authors, but also by Eastern and South-Eastern European ones: in fact, the "Balkan" art historiography based itself on the Western-European one, adopting its periodisation, terminology and interpretative framework, which led to a number of methodological problems that researchers are now trying to identify, discuss and, if possible, solve. "In an era characterised by the growing tension between local and global, the multiple activities acted by the artist Vadim Zakharov offer an important case study to investigate critically the relationship between artists and the art institutions at the time of the Global Art History. Artist, archivist, collector and editor in the frame of Moscow Conceptualism, since the end of the 1970s up to today, Zakharov embodies the figure of the "artist as institution" in the attempt to reach his artistic autonomy. This text introduces to his expansion of the archival attitude typical of Moscow conceptualism, a Soviet unofficial art movement developed in the marginal, underground, and self-referential context in the capital of USSR since the 1970s. Due to its transnationality, Zakharov's story gives the opportunity to trace parallels, comparisons and differences to what happened next, when he moved in Germany in 1989, after the fall of USSR, and with the appearance of the new labels of "post-Soviet" and "Russian contemporary art". Within this socio-historical framework, he joined a more cosmopolitan artistic scene, enlarging his archival practices with the aim to self-institutionalize and self-historicize his own artistic practices and the circle of Moscow Conceptualism in an international scene. This article uses the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), a youth international formed in Paris in 1946, as a prism through which to study how young leaders from Anglophone East and Central Africa forged transnational networks that allowed them to circumvent certain constraints of the late colonial state and the Cold War world. Adopting a regional perspective and focusing on non-state actors, the article foregrounds the importance of personal contacts, in order to travel abroad and participate in discussions about decolonisation and the contemporary world order. Mobile individuals from the region enabled IUSY to broaden its membership base, while IUSY's specificity as a youth organisation allowed it to fashion itself in a way that appealed variably to anticolonial leaders from this region, to the colonial state, and to private foundations. The priorities of both IUSY and its contacts shifted dramatically during the period 1955-65, initially coming together in the form of study tours, and later in projects based in the region, while the approach and fact of political independence raised financial concerns as IUSY's activities increasingly overflowed beyond the categories of 'youth' and 'education'.
Das Issue Competition Comparative Project (ICCP) ist ein vergleichendes Forschungsprojekt zum Thema Parteienwettbewerb. Ziel ist es, den Parteienwettbewerb aus der Perspektive des Themenwettbewerbs zu analysieren, d.h. politische Parteien und Führer als rationale, stimmmaximierende politische Unternehmer zu konzipieren, die die verfügbaren Themenmöglichkeiten in einem Kontext, in dem die Wähler über ideologische Grenzen hinweg verfügbar sind, strategisch nutzen. Die erste ICCP-Datenerhebungsrunde erstreckte sich auf sechs westeuropäische Länder (Niederlande, Frankreich, Vereinigtes Königreich, Deutschland, Österreich und Italien), die 2017 und 2018 Parlamentswahlen abgehalten haben. Der Wahlkampf von politischen Parteien und Parteiführern wurde untersucht, indem ihre Aktivitäten auf Twitter in den vier Monaten vor dem Wahltag beobachtet, gesammelt und analysiert wurden. Für jede Partei in den 6 ICCP-Ländern wurde die Überwachungstätigkeit auf dem öffentlichen Profil der Partei und auf dem öffentlichen Profil der wichtigsten Spitzenreiter/Führungskräfte der Partei durchgeführt.

This article provides a critical analysis of the evolution of the policy, institutional and legislative frameworks impinging on the livelihoods of pastoral communities in the different flanks of the Mediterranean, and of the underpinning narratives, with a view to support a better informed and more consistent policy framework. The Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union is paramount in defining evolving and shrinking pastoralists' room for manoeuvre, not only in Europe but also in its neighbouring regions. In Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, despite a quite un-harmonised and diversified ideological and institutional setting, agricultural policies in the different countries seem to converge to a very similar and consistent framework. Throughout the Mediterranean, the growing compliance with policy measures, institutional regulations and legislative rules have exposed agro-pastoral farms to increasing degrees of uncertainty and dependence on public subsidies, loan schemes and market prices, making their navigation decreasingly sustainable.

Themen: Erfassung von genealogischen Verbindungen von allen Verwandten durch Abstammung oder Heirat, darunter nicht mehr lebende Vorfahren und entfernte Verbindungen durch Abstammung oder Heirat. Für jedes Mitglied in diesem Netzwerk wurde erfragt: Geburtsort und derzeitiger Wohnort, wirtschaftliche Lage, Bildungsniveau, allgemeiner Gesundheitszustand, Indikator des Lebensstandards. Ähnliche Informationen über die Befragten selbst, einschließlich der eigenen wirtschaftlichen und gesundheitlichen Umstände, Informationen über die Häufigkeit und Art der sozialen Kontakte mit jedem Mitglied des Netzes der bekannten Verwandten (darunter rituelle Beziehungen wie Patenschaften).
Informationen über Umfang und Geflecht helfender Beziehungen, Hilfe für Dritte oder selbst empfangene Hilfe von Mitgliedern des Netzwerks von Bekannten und Verwandten; konkrete Angabe der Arten von Hilfe, z.B. Hilfe beim Einkaufen, Kinderbetreuung, Hinterlassen eines Vermächtnisses, die Zahlung von Gesundheitskosten oder Bildungskosten. Vergleichbare Informationen wurden erfragt über Nachbarn und Freunde, mit denen der Befragte helfende Beziehungen hat. Bei wesentlichen Unterstützungsleistungen wurde das Muster der Hilfe über das ganze Leben erfasst. Die Rolle der Eltern und von Verwandten und Freunden bei Entscheidungen über die Auswahl der Partner und die Planung der Familiengröße.
