The aim of this paper is to identify the regularities in the pattern of changes in the employment structure by economic sectors in Polish voivodships in the period of 2010–2016. The researchuses the data on persons employed by the actual workplace in six economic sectors (groups of sections), obtained from Statistics Poland. The research determines the degree of similarity between the sectoral structure of employment of each examined voivodship and such structure of whole Poland. The diversity of percentages of persons employed in particular economic sectors within each examined voivodship was determined using the Herfindahl-Hirschman relative index. The research also examines the similarity of sectoral structures of employment in voivodships in the chain ap-proach (year-on-year), using the similarity measure of structures. The voivodships were grouped according to the degree of similarity of structures, which, in turn, made it possible to identify the voivodships where the changes observed in the analysed period were most and least significant. The research demonstrates that in the years 2010–2016, the changes in the structure of employment by economic sectors in the examined voivodships took place relatively slowly, and that in most voivodships, the employment rate in agriculture decreased, while in services for financial, insurance and real estate sectors, it increased. The highest diversification in the structure of employment was observed in Lubelskie voivodship, andthe lowest in Małopolskie voivodship. The most dynamic changes in the sectoral structure of employment were observed at the beginning of the analysed period (2011/2010), whereas towards its end, these changes became slower.

Abstract
In the paper the author makes a classification of the Construction Sector companies that are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The classification is made with a view to identify those companies whose financial standing in the years of study (2007, 2009 and 2011) was good or bad from the point of view of several selected ratios. The classification is based on the inquiry into the stability of final diagnoses of the companies' financial standing. The final diagnoses were founded on the median from partial diagnoses which had been created in the course of a two-element diagnostic process where the real values of the companies' financial indices were compared with theoretical and empirical norms.

The article presents the application of compatibility analysis to assess the extent to which the main objective of the National Development Strategy (SRK) was realized (Raising the level and life quality of the Polish population in the provinces in 2010). The analysis uses a complex matrix of compliance tags created by comparing the indicator values of Polish provinces with their assumed value (standard) in SRK'2010. The proposed method also identified regions in which the goal was achieved, and those in which the objective has not been achieved. With the method the visualization of results was made in two-dimensional space. The study was based on data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS).

Abstract

Research background: The study was conducted and based on the project The assessment of mental condition, financed by the Ministry of Health as part of the National Health Program for 2016–2020 (operational objective 3: Prevention of mental health problems and improvement of mental well-being of society). The article focuses on a group of teachers and university lecturers from eight voivodeships selected for the study, whereas burnout was selected from the areas of mental disorders.

Purpose: The main objective of the study was to identify the regularities in the relationship between the level of professional burnout and selected demographic characteristics in the group of teachers and university lecturers. Additionally, the spatial diversity of the percentage of respondents diagnosed with occupational burnout was examined.

Research methodology: Two methods from the multi-dimensional statistical analysis were used: a classification tree analysis, and a correspondence analysis.

Results: The methods used allowed to classify the studied professional group in terms of the degree of occupational burnout. The results obtained using both the classification trees and multidimensional correspondence analysis allowed the identification of similar regularities regarding the impact of demographic variables on the level of occupational burnout.

Novelty: The application of multidimensional statistical analysis methods to study mental health based on individual, unique data from eight Polish voivodeships.

The article presents the results of a study whose main objective was to answer the question to what extent the use of the computer and the Internet supports learning in higher education. The study also made it possible to know the status of the equipment the students in the computer equipment, how to use it and to assess their skills. The survey was conducted in April and May 2015 among full-time students of the largest Szczecin universities. The study used statistical methods aiming at the characteristics of the distributions of responses and relationships between them. In addition, the authors used multivariate correspondence analysis (suitability) to identify the coexistence of selected categories of characteristics.

The aim of the study is the evaluation of the socio-economic situation of Poland in comparison to EU countries and the identification of the homogeneous groups of countries according to their level of development. The authors applied two approaches. The first approach classifies the countries according to social and economic variables separately. The linear ordering of countries was conducted by means of method using Weber's median vector. The homogeneous groups of countries were identified with application of the three medians method and the method of the analysis of taxonomic measure differences of development proposed by the authors. The second approach divides countries into the homogeneous groups according to social and economic variables at the same time. Therefore the multi-criteria taxonomy was applied. The data came from Central Statistical Office of Poland and Eurostat.

Abstract

Research background: The efficiency of the functioning of District Employment Agencies is often assessed on the basis of the level of employment and cost-effectiveness indices. The values of these indices are influenced by various socio-economic factors, which were grouped into five areas in the paper: unemployment, demography, environment, entities and the human potential of District Employment Agencies (PUPs). The research was conducted in 340 District Employment Agencies in 2017.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to separate groups of District Employment Agencies with similar values of employment and cost-effectiveness indices, with the simultaneous identification of the level of factors that characterize the socio-economic situation and staff potential in each of the separated groups.

Research methodology: One of the methods of a multidimensional statistical analysis – the regression trees method was used in the work.

Results: The use of regression trees allowed the separation of groups of District Employment Agencies, which differed in terms of the level of employment and cost-effectiveness indices, and characterized these groups due to socio-economic factors and staffing potential.

Novelty: The survey covers all District Employment Agencies in Poland and the obtained research results can be useful for labor market institutions to assess the efficiency of PUPs.

In Poland, institutions that perform public tasks in the field of the labour market are state employment services, including District Labour Offices (PUPs). They try to restore the unemployed to the open labour market using active forms of their activation. The activities of PUPs in the field of customer activation are subject to annual evaluation. According to the "Act on Employment Promotion and on Labour Market Institutions", four indicators were selected for the evaluation of the functioning of labour offices in 2015–2017. Among them, the employment effectiveness index is very important, as its level allows us to assess to what extent active forms of activation of the unemployed implemented by PUPs contribute to the return of the unemployed to employment. This assessment is so important that in Poland as well as in other countries research has been conducted on both active forms of activation of the unemployed and employment policies. The aim of the research whose results are presented in the article was to identify factors influencing the employment effectiveness index achieved by District Labour Offices (PUPs) operating in Poland in 2016. Selected statistical methods were used, including correlation and regression analysis as well as multidimensional correspondence analysis. It turned out that the methods applied did not make it possible to unambiguously identify factors which had significantly affected the employment effectiveness index calculated on the basis of all forms of activation. It may turn out that clearer relations could be identified if this indicator was considered separately for particular forms of activation.

Purpose: The purpose of this work is to assess the degree of similarity in the structure of the unemployed according to various categories (gender, age, education, the duration of unemployment) in the EU countries. Approach/Methodology/Design: As a research tool, the vector elimination method was used, which facilitates a division of a set of objects into subgroups with similar structures. Statistical data on the structure of the unemployed due to selected features in 28 European Union countries come from the Eurostat database and relate to 2018. Findings: The spatial distribution of groups of EU countries in 2018 confirms the authors' observations formulated at the beginning of the work that the structures of the unemployed by selected categories are similar in most countries, but it is also possible to distinguish countries in which these structures are significantly different. Practical Implications: The knowledge about the regularities of the structures of the unemployed in individual EU countries is necessary when developing strategies to combat unemployment, especially among people in a particular situation on the labor market. Originality/Value: There are no comprehensive analyzes in the literature to determine the similarity of the structure of the unemployed in EU countries, taking into account various demographic features that are typically taken into account in this type of research (e.g., gender, age, or level of education). The presented studies fill a gap in this area, they can also complement existing studies focusing mainly on the level of unemployment. ; peer-reviewed

The article presents the existing systems of monitoring and evaluation of the strategy of selected cities, as well as the author's proposal for monitoring the extent to which urban development strategy is implemented (example – the Strategy of Szczecin). The monitoring the implementation of specific strategic objectives, as well as evaluating the selection of indicators have a high importance. The authors also pointed out assessment limitations for the extend of realisation of the Strategy specific goals due to difficulties to quantify as well as penetration of certain goals.
