The first topographic survey of the Habsburg Monarchy was decreed by Maria Theresa 250 years ago, on May 13, 1764. A conference was held on the occasion of the anniversary by the Austrian State Geodetic Administration (BEV – Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen) and the Institute for Military Geosciences (IMG – Institut für Militärisches Geowesen) in Vienna on May 13 and 14, 2014. The conference was sort of a time travel through Austrian state surveys. Historical development and methods of the first three state surveys (18th and 19th century) were presented on the first conference day. Lectures were held by representatives of Austrian scientific institutions and new countries of the Monarchy. The second conference day was dedicated to the 4th state survey (20th century) and its impact on civilian and military application and economy. ; Prije 250 godina, nalogom carice Marije Terezije, 13.svibnja 1764. započinje prva topografska izmjera Habsburške Monarhije. Tim povodom je u Beču 13–14. svibnja 2014. održan simpozij u organizaciji austrijske Državne geodetske uprave (BEV – Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen) i Instituta za vojne geoznanosti (IMG – Institut für Militärisches Geowesen). Taj jubilarni simpozij bio je svojevrstan vremeplov kroz austrijske državne izmjere. Prvoga dana simpozija prikazani su povijesni razvoj i metode prve tri državne izmjere u 18. i 19. stoljeću. Predavanja su održali predstavnici austrijskih znanstvenih institucija i predstavnici novonastalih zemalja Monarhije. Drugi je dan simpozija bio posvećen 4. državnoj izmjeri u 20. stoljeću te njezinom utjecaju na civilnu i vojnu primjenu i ekonomiju.

Projekt LUCAS pokrenut je na temelju odluke Europskog parlamenta i Vijeća Europske unije u svibnju 2000. Eurostat je 2001. godine pokrenuo pilot projekt LUCAS u bliskoj suradnji s Ravnateljstvom za poljoprivredu i tehničku podršku ruralnom razvoju Zajedničkog istraživačkog centra. Glavni je cilj projekta zajednička, usklađena izmjera poljoprivrednih podataka i podataka okoliša in situ primjenom dokumentacije GNSS-a i fotografija određenih, georeferenciranih točaka. Istraživanje je provedeno u Slovačkoj u razdoblju od tri godine s početkom 2006. godine. U 2009. provedena je procjena zemljišnoga pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta. U radu se opisuje postupak pripreme, osiguravanja, vođenja i upravljanja istraživanjem zemljišnog pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta u Slovačkoj. Izmjera je pokrenuta 2012. godine. Osnova klasifikacije sastoji se od osam glavnih klasa zemljišnog pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta koje se dijele u detaljnije klase. Rezultat istraživanja je strukturirana baza slika i digitalnih zapisa za 2455 odabranih točaka. Najveća kartirana klasa je šumsko zemljište. Stabilizacija sheme uzorkovanja omogućila je izradu vremenskih nizova za nadzor promjene zemljišnog pokrova na odabranim tipovima zemljišnog pokrova. ; The LUCAS project was launched following a decision by the European Parliament and Council of the European Union in May 2000. U ovom smo prilogu, nadovezujući se na tekst objavljen u prošlom broju Numizmatičkih vijesti, prema tekstu latinskih isprava nastojali pokazati kolike su bile ovlasti Mladena Šubića (1312.-1322.), bana Kraljevstva Dalmacije i Hrvatske te bana i hercega Bosne, zatim Ivana Babonića (1316.-1322.), Nikole Amadijeva (1322.-1324.) i Mikca Mihaljevića (1324.-1343.), banova Čitave Slavonije, Hrvatske i Dalmacije, te koliko su i kako ti banovi sudjelovali u tadašnjem društvenopolitičkom životu. ; In this contribution, which is a continuation of the article published in the last number of Numizmatičke vijesti, the author shows from the text of Latin documents the extent of the powers of Mladen Šubić (1312-1322), Ban of the Kingdom of Dalmatia and Croatian and Ban and Duke of Bosnia, and of Ivan Babonić (1316-1322), Nikola Amadijev (1322-1324) and Mikac Mihaljević (1324-1343), Bans of All Slavonia, Croatia and Dalmatia, and how these bans participated in contemporary social and political life.

Istraživanje je provedeno tijekom 2016. godine, a cilj je bio snimanjem iz zrakoplova, u drugoj polovici lipnja, otkriti nove arheološke lokalitete na području istočne Slavonije te vidjeti kako se u tom razdoblju vide već poznati lokaliteti. Snimalo se dronom u svim godišnjim dobima kako bi vidjeli je li moguće prepoznavati lokalitete u različitim uvjetima i kako ti uvjeti utječu na vidljivost poznatih lokaliteta. Prepoznato je 50-ak novih lokaliteta. ; The basis of the research was a comparative image study of 4 cyclic photogrammetric surveys made by Republic of Croatia State Geodetic Administration from 1997 to 2015. Satellite imagery and Internet geographic services, such as Google Earth, Bing maps, Croatian Internet geodetic and agricultural map services, were also extensively used in this research. Spatial analysis of aerial images was combined with Internet historical map and image. A valuable resource is also the digitalized vertical images originated before 1968, available since 2015 (Produced by Military Geographical Institute, Belgrade). Sites were selected according to the results of the above mentioned analysis, to conduct of aircraft photographic surveys in 2013 to 2016. UAVs have been used to record target areas and sites, which significantly increased the number of newly discovered sites. The satellite imagery and aerial photography data were compared with results of the systematic field survey. Consequently, more than 200 (new 50 in 2016) archaeological sites were identified throughout the area.

Istraživanje je provedeno u razdoblju od lipnja do studenoga 2015. godine, a cilj je bio utvrditi načine i vremenske odrednice po kojima se arheološki lokaliteti prepoznaju na zračnim snimkama iz različitih izvora: satelitske snimke, vertikalne snimke Državne geodetske uprave, kose snimke snimljene iz zrakoplova te snimke dobivene snimanjem dronom. Prepoznati lokaliteti su većinom provjereni terenskim pregledom. ; This is the presentation of aerial survey results focused on the Drava, Danube and Sava Rivers in Eastern Croatia, a part of Croatia characterised by fertile land divided into large agricultural plots ideal for aerial survey of archaeological features. The combination of all described methods provided a completely new insight on land occupation, settlement patterns and subsistence strategy in prehistoric, Roman and medieval period. Already known sites could be viewed more accurately for the first time, in their entirety and within their landscape. The majority of discovered sites can be attributed to Neolithic Sopot culture from the 5th millennium BC and to the late Medieval period. An interesting observed phenomenon is the reoccupation of Neolithic circle enclosures in the late medieval period. Besides new discoveries, it has to be emphasised that survey has shown a surprisingly dynamic change of the landscape from the 18th century until today that is important both for cultural heritage management and for landscape development strategies.

Siromaštvo se u državama Europske unije mjeri na osnovi statističkih anketa baziranih na uzorku kućanstava koje imaju za cilj prikupljati podatke o prihodima ili potrošnji kućanstava i o ostalim relevantnim varijablama kućanstava i njihovih članova. U Bosni i Hercegovini se siromaštvo analiziralo na bazi potrošnje kućanstava i u nepravilnim vremenskim razmacima prilagođavajući se dinamici provođenja navedenih anketa, koja je ovisila o financijskim mogućnostima statističkih institucija. Prve analize siromaštva bile su izvršene na bazi Ankete o mjerenju životnog standarda (LSMS) iz 2001. i 2004. godine, i to prema metodologiji Svjetske banke. Uvođenjem Ankete o potrošnji kućanstava u 2004. godini prihvaćena je europska metodologija analiziranja siromaštva koja je primijenjena ponovo u istoj anketi iz 2007. godine i koja je postala standard praćenja ovog fenomena. Počevši od 2003. godine, europske zemlje su zasnovale analizu siromaštva i socijalne uključenosti na Anketi o prihodima i životnom standardu (EU-SILC). Procjenjujući da se u Bosni i Hercegovini još nisu stekli uvjeti za provođenje te ankete, a želeći slijediti europske regulative i preporuke, statističke su institucije napravile kompromisno rješenje dizajnirajući Proširenu anketu o potrošnji kućanstava, koja sadržava dva dodatna modula posvećena analizi socijalne kohezije i životnog standarda. Ta će se anketa provesti u Bosni i Hercegovini u 2011. godini i bit će most k implementaciji ankete EU-SILC-a u skoroj budućnosti. Prema anketi LSMS-a u Bosni i Hercegovini je u 2001. godini bilo 19,5% siromašnih, a u 2004. godini taj postotak je iznosio 17,8%. Ovaj rad razmatra glavna pitanja javnih politika od značaja za razvoj socijalnog (društvenog) poduzetništva u Republici Srbiji. Sastoji se od četiri poglavlja. Prvo poglavlje razmatra opći kontekst javnih politika značajnih za predmet istraživanja, prve institucionalne oblike socijalnih poduzeća, te čimbenike koji su odlučujuće utjecali na razvoj socijalnog poduzetništva u Republici Srbiji (RS) u zadnjih desetak godina. Rezultati prvog službenog istraživanja u području socijalnog poduzetništva u RS također se analiziraju u ovome poglavlju. U drugom poglavlju razmatra se pravni okvir koji izravno uređuje ili posljedično utječe na socijalno poduzetništvo u RS. Ovo se poglavlje sastoji od kritičke analize propisa koji uređuju poduzeća za profesionalnu rehabilitaciju i zapošljavanje osoba sa invaliditetom, pravni status organizacija civilnoga društva (OCD) i socijalnih zadruga, poreznih propisa značajnih za socijalno poduzetništvo, propisa koji uređuju sustav javnog financiranja OCD, javnih politika koje uređuju sustav socijalne zaštite, te propisa koji uređuju volontiranje. U trećem poglavlju predstavljeni su rezultati prvog pilot istraživanja socijalnih poduzeća koja djeluju u Autonomnoj Pokrajini Vojvodini, koje je provedeno 2016. godine. Zaključci o javnim politikama koje uređuju socijalno poduzetništvo u RS te mjerama koje bi mogle stimulativno utjecati na njegov dalji razvoj prezentirani su na kraju rada. ; This paper takes stock at key policy issues underpinning the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Serbia. It consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 provides the general context of the paper. It sets out the general policy context and discusses the roots of social entrepreneurship in Serbia, as well as the perceived policy factors which have facilitated its development in the last decade. The general findings of the first official survey on social enterprises in Serbia are also discussed in this chapter. Chapter 2 examines the legal framework governing or impacting on social entrepreneurship. It first provides a critical overview of the framework regulation for enterprises for employment and professional rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, civil society organisations (CSOs) and social cooperatives, respectively. Thereafter, it proceeds with the analyses of pertinent tax law and the legal framework for public financing of CSOs, as well as the legal and policy framework for social service provision. An analysis of the legal framework for volunteers concludes this chapter. Chapter 3 presents the results of the first pilot survey on social enterprises in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Vajdaság Autonóm Tartomány), which was conducted in 2016. Conclusions on the state of play of social entrepreneurship in Serbia, including measures which could conceivably facilitate its further development, are presented in Chapter 4.

In 1996 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed a global digital terrain model GTOPO30 with the location resolution of 30" (approximately 1 km at the Equator). Despite the coarse resolution and limited attributes GTOPO30 has been applied a lot for different hydrological, climatological, geomorphologic and military use on a regional, continental and a global level. ; U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) razvio je 1996. globalni digitalni model terena GTOPO30 s položajnom rezolucijom od 30" (približno 1 km na ekvatoru). Unatoč gruboj rezoluciji i ograničenim atributima GTOPO30 se mnogo primjenjivao za razne hidrološke, klimatološke, geomorfološke i vojne primjene na regionalnoj, kontinentalnoj i globalnoj razini.

The concept of social capital (SC) has gained wide acceptance & usage in social sciences, particularly in sociology, political science & institutional economics. This paper reconsiders the dynamics of social capital in Croatia presented in a previous article (Stulhofer, 2001). Using data from the two cross-national social science research projects (World Values Survey -- Croatia 1995 & South East European Social Survey, 2003), the author analyses changes in generalized trust, trust in institutions, & membership in civic associations during the 1995 2003 period. The findings point to a decrease in SC, which can not be solely attributed to the situational effects of war present in 1995. The strongest predictor of the negative dynamics of SC in Croatia remains the perception of corruption within state institutions. 6 Tables, 33 References. Adapted from the source document.

In the last in a series of polemics the author despairs at the pointlessness of further argument with Vujevic over his review of the latter's Politicka i medijska kultura u Hrvatskoj (Political and Media Culture in Croatia). The sticking point is the question of how to interpret a survey result showing that 38% of those surveyed in Croatia were in favor of legally protecting political parties of non-mainstream viewpoints as indicating a majority of Croatians are "tolerant."
