Le Hamas, des islamistes au pouvoir

Abstract
Since its creation in 1987, the well-known staunch Islamist Palestinian political movement was a protest one, focused on the national fight against Israel, and it kept its protest speech even after the peace agreements of Oslo. In fact, Hamas was opposed to these popular agreements, a position that marginalized it on the Palestinian political arena as well as on the international scene: it was then put on the list of the Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the USA as well as the EU. But gradually, Hamas moved to a political participation that led it to victory in the last legislative elections. Since March 2006, it has become the ruler party of the Palestinian government. Shall Hamas maintain its protest speech or shall it adapt it, in order to prove his ability to run a government? (Maghreb-Machrek/GIGA)
