An investigation to determine the superconductivity transitions of polonium-210, indium bismuthide and indium phosphide was made. No evidence of superconductivity was found down to 1.5°K in either polonium-210 or indium phosphide; the superconducting transition of indium bismuthide was found to agree with the literature values. ; "Mound Laboratory, Miamisburg, Ohio, operated by Monsanto Research Corporation, a subsidiary of Monsanto Company, for the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, U.S. Government Contract No. AT-33-1-GEN-53"--Cover. ; "MLM-1124; TID-4500 (16 ed) ; UC-4 Chemistry." ; "Date: May 30, 1960 ; Issued: Dec. 15, 1961." ; Includes bibliographical references (p. 11). ; An investigation to determine the superconductivity transitions of polonium-210, indium bismuthide and indium phosphide was made. The potential usefulness of approximately 1300 radioactive isotopes as a heat source for the thermoelectric generator was investigated. Eight thermoelectric generators were developed and two of these were used as thermoelectric batteries. Theoretical equations for non-semiconductor thermoelectric materials and experimental measurements to verify the Thompson and Peltier effects are given. ; "The object of this contract was to conduct research on radioactive materials and thermocouples suitable for the direct conversion of heat to electrical energy. Subjecting Saccharomyces cerevisiae to sonic oscillations or to high pressures will cause cell rupture and loss of viability. The extent to which these techniques for rupturing cell walls could be applied to Saccharomyces cerevisiae was investigated. ; "Mound Laboratory operated by Monsanto Chemical Company, U.S. Government Contract number AT-33-1-GEN-53"--Cover. ; "Date: May 16, 1955." ; "MLM-1050 ; Category--Health and Biology ; TID-4500 (10th edition)." ; Includes bibliographical references (page 6). ; Subjecting Saccharomyces cerevisiae to sonic oscillations or to high pressures will cause cell rupture and loss of viability.
