The geographical identity of Europe ; L'identité géographique de l'Europe

Abstract

International audience ; Can geography help to characterize Europe? To answer, we will first call on physical geography and then on conventional geography. We will then examine the historico-political geography. Finally, we will examine the institutional geography, characterized by the project of post-war European politicians to build a voluntary geography. ; La géographie peut-elle aider à caractériser l'Europe ? Pour répondre, nous ferons d'abord appel à la géographie physique puis à la géographie conventionnelle. Nous examinerons ensuite la géographie historico-politique. Enfin, nous interrogerons la géographie institutionnelle, caractérisée par le projet d'hommes politiques européens de l'après-guerre de construire une géographie volontaire.
