Abstract

Aufgrund von Haushaltslimitierungen sieht sich Frankreich vor die Wahl gestellt, seine nationalen militärischen Ambitionen im Weltraum autonom zu entwickeln oder aber wie bisher die zivile Nutzung des Weltraums in Kooperation mit den europäischen Partnern voranzutreiben. Die Analyse zeigt erhebliche Divergenzen zwischen den partizipierenden Ländern in der thematischen Ausrichtung der Weltraumforschung. Frankreich sieht in einer unabhängigen Satellitenaufklärung eine militärische Notwendigkeit zur Absicherung der nuklearstrategischen Streitkräfte.(SWP-Mgr)
