Bericht des Leiters des Kulturressorts der UDF und Schriftstellers Achmat Dangor über die Gründung und die Ziele des Schriftstellerverbandes COSAW ('Congress of South African Writers') sowie über die Arbeitsbedingungen südafrikanischer Schriftsteller. Ziel der in der Gewerkschaft organisierten Autoren ist die aktive Beteiligung am Kampf um die Veränderung der südafrikanischern Apartheidgesellschaft auf einer der schwarzen Bevölkerung unmittelbar nahestehenden Basis.
