Income as the traditional one dimensional measure in well-being and poverty analyses is extended in recent studies by a multidimensional poverty concept. Though this is certainly a progress, however, two important aspects are missing: time as an important dimension and the interdependence of the often only separately counted multiple poverty dimensions. Our paper will contribute to both aspects: First, we consider time and income both as striking and restricting resources of everyday activities and hence account for time and income as important multiple poverty dimensions. Second, the interdependence of the poverty dimensions will be evaluated by the German population to allow an advanced approach to understand possible substitution effects and the respective trade offs between the dimensions. Referring to the time dimension, we follow Sen's capability approach with its freedom of the living conditions' choice and social exclusion and argue, that restricted time might exclude from social participation. In particular, restricted genuine, personal leisure time (not entire leisure time) in particular is associated with a restricted social participation. The crucial question then is how to measure the substitution between income and such genuine leisure time. In our analysis we consider the country population's valuation with data from the German Socio-Economic Panel and estimate the substitution by a CES-utility function of general utility/satisfaction. Given this quantification we disentangle time, income and interdependent multidimensional poverty regimes characterising the working poor. In addition, we quantify further socio-economic influences for each interdependent multidimensional poverty regime by a multinomial logit based on time use diary data of the German Time Use Study 2001/02. One striking result for Germany: the substitution between time and income is significant and we find an important fraction of time poor who are unable to substitute their time deficit by income. These poor people are ignored within the poverty and well-being as well as the time crunch and time famine discussion so far.

In light of cognitive and social advantages of thinking upon forms and meanings of the relationship between a subject and a place of its acting, and in light of my personal inexhaustible interest in the pedagogy of place (Mendel, 2006), I found it tempting to make an attempt of describing the existence (ontology) of a school in a specific place by using phenomenological and hermeneutical analyses. My aim was to academically describe how a school happens in a specific place, being a community event, or a social drama (Turner, 1974). I have made such an attempt and in this text I make an effort to present such a description by referring to a school situated in a Polish village; a school raison d'être of which is nowadays endangered; a school which is "too small" and the existence of which is refused in view of the poverty of Polish communes. As a researcher I decided that my research material will be various phenomena, that is various aspects of the school's life embraced in available narrations. On the one hand, by describing, I tell the story of the school but, simultaneously, I analyze the story material (contents of narration). This is how my microhistory is created (Domańska, 2005). On the other hand, I reconstruct the unique picture of minischools created through the exchange of meanings which happens within the space of this story. It is a story about schools which firstly are doomed to be closed down as they are unprofitable and later are saved by social forces through being created a new within a new legal framework (by an association). Consequently, because of the fact that main characters of this story proved to be parents who – as all people of the post-communist Poland – look with hope at their sense of agency and a democratic aspect of the order in which they live, the text can be perceived as a microhistory of democracy.

PurposeThe 2019 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR) cites earthquakes as the most damaging natural hazard globally, causing billions of dollars of damage and killing thousands of people. Earthquakes have the potential to drastically impact physical, social and economic landscapes; to reduce this risk, earthquake early warning (EEW) systems have been developed. However, these technical EEW systems do not operate in a vacuum; the inequities in social systems, along with the needs of diverse populations, must be considered when developing these systems and their associated communication campaigns.Design/methodology/approachThis article reviews aspects of social vulnerability as they relate to ShakeAlert, the EEW system for the USA. The authors identified two theories (relationship management theory and mute group theory) to inform self-reflective questions for agencies managing campaigns for EEW systems, which can assist in the development of more inclusive communication practices. Finally, the authors suggest this work contributes to important conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues within early warning systems and earthquake preparedness campaigns in general.FindingsTo increase inclusivity, Macnamara (2012) argues that self-reflective questioning while analyzing perspective, philosophy and approaches for a campaign can help. Specific to EEW campaigns, developers may find self-reflective questions a useful approach to increase inclusion. These questions are guided by two theories and are explored in the paper.Research limitations/implicationsSeveral research limitations exist. First, this work explores two theories to develop a combined theoretical model for self-reflective questions. Further research is required to determine if this approach and the combination of these two theories have adequately informed the development of the reflective questions.Originality/valueThe authors could find little peer-reviewed work examining DEI for EEW systems, and ShakeAlert in particular. While articles on early warning systems exist that explore aspects of this, EEW and ShakeAlert, with its very limited time frames for warnings, creates unique challenges.

Starting from the analysis of Marx's Chapter 26 of the first volume of Capital, this article describes Marxian emphasis on the extremely violent aspects—a list of the main cases is also provided—of the so-called "enclosures" as fundamental procedures that favored the "primitive accumulation", that is, the first social and economic step that led to capitalism. The "enclosures" that characterized the primitive accumulation process, violently expropriating peasants, razing their cottages and dwellings, are illustrated in detail. At the same time, we will describe what we call the "moral bubble", created by the narratives—morally edifying—about enclosures, only devoted to the emphasis on the positive economic and social outcomes: the moral bubble acts as a powerful conceptual device capable of concealing the violence that accompanies enclosures. The second part of the article stresses the fact that the mechanism of enclosures can be traced back not only to violently expropriating common lands in which the peasants flourished but also to the violent processes against women to have them basically reduced to machines for the production of new workers, in the framework of the new "patriarchy of the wage". The importance of the so-called "new enclosures" is further delineated after having shown how enclosures express the historical and general tendency of capitalistic accumulation and not only of the primitive one. The violent aspects of primitive accumulation, and so of primitive enclosures, are described as the main characters of every phase of the recent capitalist globalization, marked by continuous and unprecedented assault (as smart social, political, and economic mechanisms for producing enclosures) on the commons, perpetrated by the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, coronavirus lockdown and, currently, also by the paradoxical economic effects of the interplay between the green era and Ukraine war–global food and energy crisis. The potential of Islamic banking continues to be enhanced to build a national sharia economic ecosystem, it's can contribute optimally to the national economy and social development. Operational principles and accounting standards are one of the foundations for progress in Islamic banking. An overview of the pros and cons of Islamic banking can be identified through its performance which is reflected in the financial statements. The focus of this paper is on the preparation and presentation of Islamic financial statements along with a comparison of financial statements between sharia and conventional, in which conventional financial statements contain fewer elements of financial statements. This type of research is library research which analyzes data with descriptive analysis. The results of this research indicate that Islamic financial statements are not only related to commercial aspects but also cover all aspects of human life, be it economic, political, social, or moral philosophy. In addition to reflecting Islamic banking activities, the Islamic financial statement also divides its rights and obligations as reported in the statement of financial position (balance sheet), income statement, cash flow statement, and changes in equity. The article describes the achievements of modern Ukrainian historical science in determining the place and role of the church under the conditions of the Holodomor of 1932–1933, the position and activities of church organizations, religious communities, clergy, religious persons. The article presents the range of authors, topics, and geography of studies. The main directions and dynamics of the study of the topic are revealed. The dependence of its development on social and political implications is observed. The methodological difficulties, theoretical and fractographic achievements in the disclosure of certain aspects of the problem are established. The prospects for further studies are determined. The authors concluded that the first signs of attention to the issue of the life of the church under the conditions of the Holodomor occurred at the turn of the 80–90s of XX century. The impetus for the study was the democratization of society, national revival in the process of gaining state independence by Ukraine, the dissemination of works on the history of the church, published earlier among the diaspora. The first achievements in revealing the problem were made in works devoted to the history of state-church relations. After that, the articles devoted to clarifying the fate of church organizations during the Holodomor years appeared. Historical and legal, social and economic, institutional, cultural, and ethnic-confessional aspects became the areas of the study. Political repressions against clergy and religious persons have been studied more actively. Scientific interest shifted to the study of the history of various confessions, religious communities, and figures in the context of a nationwide tragedy. Methodological innovations in historiography increased the attention of scientists to the history of everyday life of the clergy and religious persons during the Holodomor, as well as to the impact of the Holodomor on religious consciousness, social psychology, and behaviour. 25 апреля 2021 года исполнилось 90 лет Евгению Фомичу Молевичу. Это совершенно необыкновенный человек, чья биография является отражением целой эпохи в истории нашей страны. Цель данной статьи познакомить читателя с человеческими качествами и основными этапами жизненного пути, а также научными интересами известного ученого. Рассматриваются его социологическая концепция трехаспектной структуры современного социологического знания; специфика подхода к анализу трудовой деятельности и ее структуры; концепция труда в постиндустриальном обществе; перспективы становления современного общества как новой социально-информационной реальности. Кроме того, уделяется внимание прикладным аспектам деятельности Е.Ф. Молевича как организатора социологической лаборатории (1969 г.), директора НИИ социальных технологий Самарского университета (19952009 гг.) и заведующего кафедрой социологии и политологии. Делаются выводы о причинах широкого признания в научной среде и успехах в преподавательской и общественной деятельности. ; Evgeniy Fomich Molevich turned 90 years old on the 25th of April 2021. He is an extraordinary man whose biography is a reflection of an entire era in the history of our country. The purpose of this article is to introduce the reader to human qualities and the main stages of life path, as well as scientific interests of a well-known scientist. There have been analyzed his sociological concept of the three-pronged structure of the modern sociological knowledge; the characteristic aspects of the approach regarding the labor activity analysis and its structure; the labor concept in a post-industrial society; the prospects for the construction of a modern society as a new social and information reality. Moreover, there has been make an emphasis on the applied aspects of E.F. Molevichs activities as the organizer of the sociological laboratory (1969), the director of the Research Institute of Social Technologies of Samara University (1995-2009) and the head of Sociology and Political Science Department. Conclusions concerning the reasons for widespread recognition in the scientific environment and successes in teaching and social activities have been drawn.

The leadership crisis is an interesting thing to discuss in the current era, where everyone wants to gain power and is upheld by the people under him. However, the power that has been obtained is not the least bit misused properly, a person should rule and lead his people. Social issues regarding corruption, oppression of the little people, arbitrary tax increases, dishonesty from the leaders themselves, are certainly very close to our ears about the political and social conditions that exist in Indonesia. The Robin of Sherewood performance from the KataK Theater, directed and written by Venantinus Vladimir Ivan, raised this with satires in the form of dialogue that was brought up during the performance which took place at the Jakarta Arts Building on 11-13 May 2018. The political communication of protest is reflected in this performance, how Loxely and the rest of Robin are a reflection of those who dare to cast a voice of truth. To further analyze the Robin of Sherewood performance from the KataK Theater, researchers used critical discourse analysis developed by Norman Fairclough. In his analysis, Fairclough divides discourse analysis into three major aspects, namely: Microstructure Analysis (Text), Mesostructural Analysis (Performance Production), Macrostructural Analysis (Situational, Institutional, Social) (Eriyanto, 2018: 286). This research uses qualitative research methods, supported by a critical paradigm and also a critical tradition. The results of this study indicate that it has been shown how a theater performance can reflect, entertain and educate the audience regarding the political communication of protest contained therein through dialogues that are reflected in each act. Criticism of the authorities, conveying what feels right, and defending the oppressed people are continuous with the current political conditions in Indonesia. All these aspects are packaged neatly and attractively.

Das IAB wurde gebeten, zu dem Antrag der Fraktion DIE LINKE in der Hamburger Bürgerschaft "In Zeiten der Pandemie endlich die dringend benötigten unabhängigen Ombudsstellen für Erwerbslose im SGB-II-Bezug einrichten" im Rahmen der Anhörung des Ausschusses für Soziales, Arbeit und Integration am 10.8.2021 Stellung zu nehmen. Da hierzu keine Studien des IAB vorliegen, beschränkt sich die Stellungnahme auf Erkenntnisse zu bestimmten Aspekten des Kontakts von Personen im Bezug vonGrundsicherungsleistungen mit den Jobcentern. Erläutert werden folgende Aspekte: Erfahrungen von Leistungsberechtigten mitihren Jobcentern anhand der Panelbefragung "Arbeitsmarkt und Soziale Sicherung" (PASS), Forschungsergebnisse zur Qualität der Beratung am Beispiel der Eingliederungsvereinbarung, Erfahrungen vulnerabler Leistungsberechtigter am Beispiel psychisch kranker Menschen im SGB II und Erfahrungen mit einer Ombudsstelle für ein Berliner Jobcenter. Abschließend wird geschlussfolgert, dass Ombudsstellen ein gewisses Potenzial für bestimmte Probleme und für bestimmte Leistungsberechtigte haben können. Aufgrund anderer Defizite in der Beratung und Betreuung - insbesondere hinsichtlich besonders vulnerabler Gruppen - bedürfe es jedoch neuer Konzepte des "Empowerment" in den Jobcentern selbst. ; During the hearing of the parliamentary Committee for Social Affairs, Labour and Integration on 10 August 2021, the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) issued a comment on the proposal "In Times of Pandemic, finally Install the urgently needed independent Ombuds Service for Unemployed Persons receiving Benefits under Social Code II" by the parliamentary groupDIE LINKE in the Hamburg State Parliament (Bürgerschaft). Regarding that there are no studies of the IAB on exactly thattopic,the commentis confined to certain aspects of benefitrecipients' contact with the jobcentres. The statement explicates the following aspects: Experiences of benefit recipients with their jobcentres based on the panel study "Labour Market and Social Security (PASS)", results of studies on the quality of counselling using the example of "back-to-work agreements", experiences of vulnerable benefit recipients, in particular those with mental health issues and the work of an ombuds service for a Berlin jobcentre. The authors conclude that an independent ombuds service may have a potential to serve certain benefit recipients and may help to reduce some problems. However, due to other shortcomings in counselling and supporting the unemployed, in particular with regard to vulnerable groups, the jobcentres themselves need new concepts of empowerment.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of life – political, economic, religious. It has led to millions of people being infected, a large number of deaths (in early December the number was approaching 1.5 million), severe health consequences for many of those who have survived the disease, and a powerful economic cri‑sis resulting in tens of millions of people around the world losing their jobs. The health care system in most countries has been rocked to its core. Many countries' introduction of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2), especially those that limit the ability to move around in the public sphere and call for social distancing and mask wearing, has caused an explosion of social protests, an increased distrust of both the authorities who have introduced various restrictions and the scientists and healthcare workers who have recommended these restrictions, as well as an unprecedented flourishing of various conspiracy theories. Some of these theories go so far as to suggest that the pandemic is a creation or invention of those holding global power, who are now striving for the total and unprecedented enslavement of billions of people and complete control over all aspects of the lives of individuals and societies. These phenomena are felt particularly acutely in democratic states, which are inherently more sensitive to social tensions. For the pandemic has deepened the already existing crisis not only of democratic-liberal institutions, but also of the entire intellectual "spirit" of this socio-political formation. The most spectacular exemplification of this phenomenon are the events surrounding the United States presidential election, which – in the opinion of some experts – may lead to a serious crisis in democratic procedures in the country considered the leader of the free world.

Today, more and more attention is paid to the functioning of organizations, it is placed not only on the work itself, but on the actors and on those subjective dimensions of the worker. In this social-working context the psychological techniques and processes aimed at employment in the new scenario of the globalized society have not yet been studied in all aspects, although its diffusion and importance for the global economy is evident. Also the psychological contract, widely discussed, is an argument with insufficient gaps in scientific research, in particular as regards empirical analysis and theoretical interpretative models. Economic literature has never paid much attention to psychological aspects; on the other hand, psychosocial literature has often omitted use as a specific research topic, focusing on traditional placement and outplacement processes. Some scholars, especially from the Anglo-American school, have emphasized the need to direct research towards an interpretative analysis of the psychological contract based on empirical data, also considering the results of nagerial and organizational literature. This article focuses on the process of acquiring and transmitting interpersonal dynamics that characterize the psychological contract with the consequent phases of insertion into the working world, describing its characteristics and its specific dynamics. It also provides an interpretation of these processes, adopting a theoretical model derived from the social psychology of interpersonal relationships.

In the end, the article provides some tips to manage the processes of the psychological contract with less stress, psychologically speaking and less organizational uncertainties, mainly addressing the new generations. The purpose of this contribution is to analyze from a psycho-social point of view, the evolution of psychological relationships between employers and workers, within the new scenario of the globalized society, opening new perspectives of investigation and study related to the study of human factors and organizational well-being, work-trust relationships and quality of working preformances.

This discussion is based on a review by three great thinkers on the topic. First, we review the key terms of media, the evolution of technology, and the advent of a globalized culture in its current state as advocated by the reflections of Marshall McLuhan. Then we place on the market aspects, which are the structural basis of the capitalist system and contemporary culture, based on the work of Richard Sennett. Therefore, we discuss the new relations of production and reproduction in this material and symbolic value system. However, it is, in this sense, in the symbolic aspects that we present our reading and interpretation of Jean Baudrillard's reflections. Finally, our paper proposes a synthesis of these three significant references to the social sciences, art, and culture about the new condition of the contemporary individual and their challenges in handling the new market requirements on the values of influential mass culture. We will seek a logical connection by analyzing Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man (McLuhan 1964), Le système des objets (1968) and The Culture of the New Capitalism (Sennett 2007), which, in principle, are focused on contemporary society. Therefore, to better understand the intricacies of this society, which propagates democratic values and evokes social justice at all times, including in its arts and culture, we will end this essay by presenting social reality based on the complementary ideas of these three authors. ; Art Style, Art & Culture International Magazine is an open-access, biannual, and peer-reviewed online magazine that aims to bundle cultural diversity. Result of research shows existence of antusiasme involvement of public in every development step of environmental infrastructure in so many form. Responder taking part in in each development step of indicating that environmental infrastructure is responder has done good cooperation with government as conceptor existence of program Prodamas. Indication existence of this cooperation, indicates that form of participation of public has resided in at partnership level, medium of existence Enableness Program Sub- district Public (Prodamas) in sub-district Campurejo stays at partnership level.
