Abstract

from Sahara to the Mediterranean, the transnational migration of sub-Saharan Africans across the Maghreb countries regains, from this area, the forms, times and territories of migration, seeking new destinations but also new ways of circumventing territorial constraints and crossing borders. Sub-Saharan trans-migrants are rooted in Maghreb societies by grafting their own movements to those of local populations. In Morocco in particular, it is the populations living in places of socio-economic rehabilitation that deal with and integrate the phenomena of the presence, passage and temporary settlement of sub-Saharan trans-migrants. In order to survive in these areas, the time to redefine their migration plan, they must collectively compensate for a lack of territory by concentrating individual mobility intentions in particular social groups: sub-Saharan cross-migrant groups with diverse origins, who organise cooperation and solidarity in their stages around their complementarity. They must also adapt to the way of life of their Moroccan neighbours, avoiding social control, and cooperate with some of them by organising their diversity around common points. ; International audience From Sahara to the Mediterranean, the cross-national migration of sub-saharian Africans across North-African countries reshape from this area, migration forms, length of time and territories. Indeed, they search for new destinations, but also other ways to counter the different brakes to transcend boundaries, all boundaries. Sub-saharian cross-migrants "anchored" to North-African societies by settling their own movement network jointly to the local one. More precisely concerning Morocco, people that have been marginalized in low standard suburbs are the ones that assimilate more the presence, the migration and even the social settling of those cross-migrants.
