International trade negotiations and poverty reduction: the white paper on cotton
In: Occasional Papers, 249
Abstract
The book looks behind the scenes at four years of trade negotiations, with a view to better understanding the motives and objective reasons that lie behind the different key players' support for, or opposition to, the search for an appropriate solution to the African cotton crisis. It also examines the strategies and alliances involved in the negotiations to better review their strength and limitations in the run-up to the ministerial Conference in Hong Kong. The book seeks to question the coherence of the trade and development policies of both Northern and Southern countries, with a view to highlighting the real issues. (GIGA-Sbd)
