Abstract

Die Fulbe im Atebubu District, Weidewirtschaft betreibende Nomaden, wurden 1999/2000 (erneut) vertrieben, konnten aber kurz darauf in ihre angestammten Gebiete zurückkehren. Der Autor untersucht die Interessen und Haltungen der lokalen Bevölkerungen gegenüber den Fulbe, die zu dem Konflikt geführt haben. Die vergleichsweise wenige integrierte ethnische Bevölkerungsgruppe hat Strategien entwickelt, ihre Interessen im lokalen Kontext zur Geltung zu bringen bzw. sich den Gegebenheiten anzupassen. Der Autor thematisiert darüber hinaus das Verhältnis zwischen Staat und Nomaden auf der nationalen und lokalen Ebene. (DÜI-Sbd)
