Abstract
After sketching out an outline of the security, economic and cultural relationship between China and Japan, the author discusses how they add up, and what they may mean in terms of the overall international system. Summing up the various aspects of post-war Sino-Japanese relations, the author notes that in the security sphere, there have been drastic changes from time to time; in the economic realm, predictable growth and interdependence have occurred; the cultural aspect has remained more limited.
