The classification tools and the controlled vocabularies have a long intervention in the scientific literature of biases and criticisms about their endemic problems in relation to the treatment of the contents referring to non-heteronormative affective-sexual panoramas. Queer and gender theory have made their great contributions in involving functional, social and democratic solutions within the information processing that help the user to interact with the catalog by training suitable, open and prepared professionals for this task. Achieving the aforementioned would imply getting rid of a hegemony in the cataloging / classification to successfully reach the institutional catalog and the correct approach to the reference, participating in an interaction / reflection of the users with the professionals, showing and teaching the accessibility of the information from an inclusive perspective. The present proposal is carried out through an analysis of the relevant literature, paying special attention to the resources that come from the critical perspective of Social Library and considering two main main approaches: first, to point out the existing methods of historical stigmatization in the treatment of the information that comes from the indexing processes and the second refers to possible tools to use to exercise good library practices, thus guaranteeing the recognition of all relevant discourse in relation to the representativeness and accessibility of the GLTTIBQ community.

It is now taken for granted among Rabelais scholars that Gargantua presents stylistic inconsistencies that evince a lack of inspiration: in fact, the text is marked by discrepancies and "étourderies". Conversely, critics haven't yet come to an agreement as regards the dating of the editio princeps (1534 or 1535), and this has relevant ideological, as well as material, implications. This essay compares the two first editions of the text (based on Mireille Huchon's method and findings), with a view to responding to these questions. The essay argues that the first version of Gargantua, dating from 1533-1534, was essentially comic and popular in character. Later on, supporting the interests of the Du Bellay clan, Rabelais hastily added elements – which can be firmly identified at the formal level – that position it in the political and ideological climate of 1535.

; This paper inquires on the "conservative twist" and it impact on travestis' lives in Argentina. In this regard, two moral images are analysed: the permitted travesti and the narcotravesti. The former represents those who struggled for a dignified work within an abolitionist paradigm. The latter, on the contrary, was recently crystalized in a sentence that sent a Peruvian travesti to prison for drug dealing, considering the fact of her being foreigner as an aggravating circumstance. The narcotravesti image was widely spread by the media, informing the rise in police repression and the stigmatization of migrant people. The analysis of these two images contribute to explore, on the one hand, the moral and political intersections that constrain the limits of the possible and acceptable for travestis; and, on the other, the configuration of specific vulnerabilities within a repressive context. ; Fil: Cutuli, Maria Soledad. 'Brazilian 'Travesti' Migrations offers a rich and nuanced analysis of the cultures of travestis in Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona. Emerging from a feminist ethics and paying particular attention to embodiment and aesthetics, it tells a moving and often heroic story of gender diverse lives, loves and bodies. This is a wonderful addition to sexuality and gender research.' --Sally Hines, Associate Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies, University of Leeds, UK. 'Vartabedian's fascinating ethnographic account reveals not only how some performances of femininity are valued more than others, but how these performances are simultaneously a way of enacting exoticized versions of Brazilianness. Importantly, she showcases the limitations of eurocentric sex/gender taxonomies for accommodating travesti ways of being and suggests that transgender studies further work to do if it is to interpret travesti lives without doing epistemological violence to them.' --Susan Stryker, Associate Professor of Gender and Women's Studies, University of Arizona, USA, and co-editor, TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly This book analyses the embodied and spatial experiences of Brazilian travesti sex workers who cross both, gender and (trans)national borders. Based on a multi-sited ethnography, it explores travestis' bodily transformations, their involvement in sex work, and the transnational migrations to Europe that many make. This engaging account combines rich ethnographic research with incisive analysis that draws on feminist and trans studies, queer theory (and its critiques), social and queer geography research, sex work and trans migration studies. It will appeal to students and scholars of migration, gender, sexuality and transgender issues. Julieta Vartabedian is a researcher at the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge, UK. In her work she combines gender studies, feminist theory, ethnographic and embodiment research. Her articles have been published in Qualitative Research and Sexualities.--

(pmb)
