There is growing evidence that rising levels of prosperity in Western economies since 1945 have not been matched by greater incidences of reported well-being and happiness. Indeed, material affluence is often accompanied instead by greater social and individual distress. A growing literature within the humanities and social sciences is increasingly concerned to chart not only the underlying trends in recorded levels of happiness, but to consider what factors, if any, contribute to positive and sustainable experiences of well-being and quality of life. Increasingly, such research is focusing on the importance of values and beliefs in human satisfaction or quality of life; but the specific contribution of religion to these trends is relatively under-examined. This unique collection of essays seeks to rectify that omission, by identifying the nature and role of the religious contribution to wellbeing. In this paper, I aim to show how medieval political theology and contemporary philosophy of history can inform one another. To do so, I examine the concept of Tabor–a notion which emerges among the radical Hussites, known as the Taborites, during the Hussite revolution in medieval Bohemia. I believe that the politico-theological concept of Tabor puts into question modern philosophies which think of history in terms of time, by clearly showing the insufficiency of a purely temporal approach to historical ideas and experiences. To successfully articulate the Taborite concept, we must understand history as structured not only by time but also by space and ideology. Conversely, a historical study guided by the philosophical categories of ideology, space, and time can expand our understanding of Hussite political theology by revealing notions and experiences which cannot be identified by an exclusively ideological, or solely spatial or temporal, analysis. ; Ten artykuł ma za zadanie ukazać sposób w jaki średniowieczna teologia polityczna i współczesna filozofia historii są w stanie wzajemnie się uzupełniać. Moim zdaniem teologiczno-polityczny koncept Taboru stawia pod znakiem zapytania współczesne filozofie, które traktują historię w pojęciach czasu, poprzez ukazanie niewystarczalności czysto "czasowego" podejścia do historycznych idei i doświadczeń. Aby z powodzeniem nakreślić koncept Taboru, powinniśmy rozumieć historię jako strukturę nie tylko czasową, ale również przestrzenną i ideologiczną. Równocześnie studium historyczne kierujące się filozoficznymi kategoriami ideologii, przestrzeni i czasu pozwala na rozbudowanie naszego rozumienia husyckiej teologii politycznej poprzez uwidocznienie pojęć i doświadczeń, które pozostają niezidentyfikowane czy to w analizach wyłącznie ideologicznych, jedynie przestrzennych lub czysto czasowych.

The article deals with one of the most outstanding representatives of Muslim modernism but still has not been thoroughly studied in our country, Egyptian theologian 'Ali 'Abdarraziq (1888–1966), the author of a famous book 'Islam and the Foundations of Political Power' (1925).The second part of the article analyses 'Abdarraziq's depoliticization of religion, his critics of the basic problems of traditional political theology of Islam: the conception of the Prophet Muhammad as a king in addition to his prophetic mission, the sacred necessity of the caliphate, the world Islamic government, etc.

The dissertation focuses on the construction of the self, in this case the male self. It wishes to understand and analyze different technologies of power that manipulate the subject and render his a self to an 'I' with a strong sense of identity. The case study is the book of Ezekiel as a manifesto of power/knowledge process, and as a brick in the adobe of western thinking. The main assumption is that the fundamental building block of (also the biblical) societies is Man and his images. A Man is a 'Self' that is caught in an identification process through construction and deconstruction, in an ever-changing discourse that shapes and reshapes myths and produces the 'correct' and 'wrong' knowledge in order to fulfill a political end. The notion Man exists as something neutral even though it is constantly in the process of identification. Another assumption is that no identity is fixed, and all identities are fluid and are changing as response to political events or to fulfill a political end. In fact, there is no such thing as an identity but a subject trapped in a constant identification process. The main research question is: What is the genealogical theological process of the political subjectivization in the book of Ezekiel? Asked differently: What is the total sum of the technologies of power that are manipulated on the reader and generates the subject who subscribes to the text? ; La thèse porte sur la construction de soi, le sujet masculin dans le livre d'Ezéchiel. This essay analyses this movie in the light of Bruno's thought, highlighting its relevance for the present "biographical turn" as well as the importance of film theory and practice in the framework of the so-called "Italian Thought". By considering them as strictly intertwined, the essay aims at underlying the crucial theoretical role played by biopics in the definition of specific key concepts of the present time.

Wie geht der freiheitliche Verfassungsstaat mit in der Öffentlichkeit heftig artikulierter Kritik an Religion sowie den damit verbundenen Auswirkungen um? Der "Gotteslästerer" kann sich auf das Grundrecht der Meinungsäußerungsfreiheit in seiner abwehrrechtlichen Funktion berufen, wohingegen das Opfer der Gotteslästerung die Schutzfunktion der Grundrechte in Stellung zu bringen versucht, um den Staat zu einem Einschreiten zu bewegen. Barbara Rox überprüft die in diesem Zusammenhang im nationalen Verfassungsrecht wie im Völkerrecht überwiegend vertretene These von einem Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Meinungsfreiheit und Religionsfreiheit auf ihre Belastbarkeit. Zu diesem Zweck entwickelt sie die Dogmatik grundrechtlicher Schutzpflichten fort und präzisiert den Schutzumfang der inneren Seite des Grundrechts der Religionsfreiheit. Ce qu'on désigne comme identité est en réalité un sujet pris au piège dans un processus d'identification constante. La question principale de cette recherche est ainsi : « quelle est la généalogie du processus théologique de subjectivation politique dans le livre d'Ézéchiel? » Une autre question traverse ce travail : « quelles sont les stratégies de pouvoir à l'oeuvre et comment manipulent-elles le lecteur afin de générer un sujet qui souscrit au texte? »
