This is the title of our new blog post, in which we outline why researchers should consider Mastodon as an alternative to other social media platforms.
Click here to go directly to the blog post (German only).
Discussion on the question of where to go "after Twitter/X" is possible on both Mastodon and Twitter/X.
We are very interested in feedback from the scientific community!
We are pleased to be to be an official supporter at the international congress "Political Theory in Times of Uncertainty" hosted at the University of Bremen (September 27-29, 2023). Together with our partner Qualiservice (data service center for qualitative social science research data) we will inform about our services at an information booth (in the Atlantic Hotel Universum).
The congress is organized under the umbrella of the Section for Political Theory and the History of Ideas of the German Political Science Association (GPSA).
We have our own section in the DVPW blog. There we regularly report on new services and developments from the FID Political Science.
The first post was published today. It is all about entries from political science research blogs, since recently more than 350 research blogs in German and English language can be found via the Pollux literature search.

Pollux now covers all important forms of scientific publication (cf. Stykow) and our users can thus research well-founded articles on current political or political science topics. The advantage of speed, however, can also be a disadvantage, since blog publications are generally subject to less careful (or no) review processes. Overall, however, research blogs are becoming increasingly important in science communication.
The blog selection will be continuously updated and modified. Suggestions for further political science blogs in German and English can be submitted via https://www.pollux-fid.de/contact or by mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would like to thank the DVPW for the great cooperation and the opportunity to inform political science researchers about topics in the fields of literature research, open access, research data management, and science communication via their blog.
From now on, registered political scientists (PLUS account) have free access to the political monitoring and analysis service Polit-X directly via Pollux. Polit-X contains millions of current and historical political documents and other entries at federal, state and European level and offers powerful digital policy analysis tools.
Using Polit-X via Pollux is simple. Users with a political scientists account need only log in to Pollux and can then access Polit-X with a simple click. Popular functions such as alerts on new documents, monitoring of the processes in the Bundestag and Bundesrat, the parliamentarian monitor or the other advanced analysis tools are easy and quick to set up with an appropriate account.
Polit-X has been pioneering innovation and development of digital monitoring of political and public life since 2006. With its smart data approach, Polit-X is an expert tool for data-driven evaluations of political developments. In extensive databases, millions of political documents from the federal, state and EU levels are available in a daily updated and bundled form.
With analysis and alert functions, it is also possible to quickly and easily evaluate the activities of the members of the Bundestag and all state parliaments as well as the members of the EU Parliament. For this purpose, Polit-X is constantly expanding its range of services and also uses the latest technologies, such as machine learning and AI.
