Chinese government work report

Abstract

In his report to the Second Session of the Ninth National People's Congress Premier Zhu Ronji reviewed the government's work in 1998 and laid out the general requirements for its work in 1999. Themes are: expanding domestic demand, a positive financial policy, development of agriculture and the rural economy, reform of state-owned enterprises, efforts to expand exports, effective utilisation of foreign funds, science and education, a plan of running the country according to law, promoting the peaceful reunification of China, diplomatic work.
