Afiliación partidaria para fortalecer a la democracia
In: Apuntes electorales: revista del IEEM, Band 15, Heft 55, S. 53-77
Abstract
Mexicans have recently acquired a new tool for understanding our elections:
national political party membership rosters. Evidence shows,
however, that, for all practical purposes, no correlation exists between
party affiliation and how voters actually behave at the polls. A review of
the vast amount of publically-available data makes it possible to suggest
reforms that would simplify and make universally available individual,
egalitarian methods of affiliation to political parties. Modern politics
demands ensuring that people be able to freely affiliate to these organizations
in the public interest.
