El G-20 y la gobernanza global: ¿un cambio en la arquitectura o en los procedimientos? ; Una mirada desde América Latina
In: Nueva Sociedad, Heft 229, S. 26-40
Abstract
As a result of the preoccupation for the instability of the global financial system, the g-20 emerged to join central countries and those that are developing, along with global political and economic institutions. This has changed it in the first instances of North-South dialogue and gives it a more democratic character than that of other global forums. After analyzing the summit's composition, history and agenda, the article maintains that, as the decisions are not binding, the efficiency of the g-20 is in the possibility of exchanging experiences and good practices. And concludes that the great challenge for developing countries is reaching a consensus about common interests, in a way which will strengthen their voices in the dialogue with the countries of the North.
