Abstract

The papers published in this book are a product of a five day workshop held at Arusha, Tanzania, in August 1987. The papers were presented during plenary sessions with the two subthemes family and urban population. Four papers are based on Tanzania, three on Kenya and one each on Uganda, Zambia and Botswana.
